Our league was probably the most loaded league in the last decade. Not saying it's easy to go .500 because road games in the Big XII are tough whether it's TCU or KU. But last year isn't a good example.

It's not going to get any easier with Underwood, Dixon, and Smart in the mix. It will be a down year by our recent standards. I would not be shocked if we made it, but wouldn't be shocked if we missed either.

Maybe, finish in the top half of the league and you're in. Lots of pieces that can be added before next season but we will lack experience
I think it's an NIT year unless we get a big break on the grad transfer market. Hard to say until the roster is established.

We could have gone 8-10 last year and made it. 10-8 gave us a 4 seed, that's pretty incredible. Would have had a chance at 7-11, but a very slim one. Hilton is a big deal, we don't lose there often. Win 7/9 home games and one or two on the road and we're dancing. Should be able to stomp Iowa at home, and Mizzou isn't that good. Our non-con tourney field is pretty weak too. I think we rack up wins against the n00bs in non-con and get enough to go .500 in conference, but I'm assuming we get a grad transfer/JUCO big that can play 20+ minutes. Wouldn't hurt to get the most talented available guard as well.

Way too early to tell what next year's team will look like. I don't think Jackson and Babb have shown what they are capable of yet and you don't know what grad transfer(s) they will get. Also don't know how much the young guys will progress.

Speaking of grad transfers, there seems to be a lot of talk out there and discontent of the grad transfer playing immediately. Do you think they're are going to change the rule?? I see both sides, meaning mid major programs losing their senior players, but it would definitely hurt programs like ours if they change it.

I think it hurts the STUDENT-athlete who did what they were supposed to do in the classroom.

It does suck for the school that Redshirt the player, put in the work of making him better, in hopes of getting 4 full years, especially the last one, when he should be at his best. This is why I think it's kinda silly to Redshirt players.

I could maybe see the NCAA making a grad transfer sit one year to play the next. Educationally, this makes sense anyways, considering a master's degree typically takes two years.

My wish list would be
Stokes
Grad transfer guard that can really score
JUCO wing/forward
Sit out transfer if attrition

Why can coaches move as often as they want but a kid who graduates cannot?

I don't think you can badmouth the grad transfer while we have the ridiculous amounts of one and done players who treat the actual "classroom" as a total joke....

Agree. I find it amusing the same coaches that speak out about grad transfers are the guys making $4-5m/yr from one and done players who literally take one semester of classes on their way to the NBA.

Complaining about the transferring in college basketball is so stupid. These athletes only have FOUR years to play college basketball. That is such a small portion of your life. It is crazy that people see it as a problem that the athlete wants to go somewhere where he can be happy and make a bigger impact.

Coaches are professionals.

I'm not saying it should definitely be changed. I'm just giving an alternate view. Of course we all love it the way it is now. It has benefited our program immensely. However, it would really suck if you're a mid major school, expecting a big year from your senior stud, only to have him leave the summer before. Now you have an empty scholarship, and a less talented, more inexperienced team.

@CyTwins Do you think Wigginton will go higher? Can he break the .9800 on the composite?

It's possible he could get there if he gets a bump in Scout's and 247's own rankings when they update. Scout has him at #66 which is the worst of all the four they use. I bet he stays where he's at though. McNeill will most likely get a bump because I think he'll be in the Rivals final 150 and same with Stokes
