Young and Lard hopefully nail down the 5 for us.
Kasongo sounds like he's also better suited at the 5 as well.

I think the ideal situation at the 4 would be a grad transfer w/ 3pt range
and Juiston a double-double machine who has a great handle and shoots a high FG% but lacks range. (has not attempted a 3)

This combo @ the 4 would set up well for Thompson to step from the 2018 class.

Lake seems like another 5 that may be a back up plan if Prohm feels Lard won't be Big XII ready.

Yetna sounds like a project w/ high upside that may need time to develop. Only a guess but if we sign Yetna it would be to fill a hole left by attrition as the three current opening will be used to fill current needs. (2 PF & a SG)

Honestly, I'd prefer to get Lake over Shakur for the simple reason that Lake is 6'10" and Shakur isn't

Dude Young is lucky if he is 6'7" he is a 4 not a 5. Lard and Kasongo are the 5's Juiston is a 3 that can play the 4 if needed at the next level as is Yetna.

Why do we see Lard as a 5 rather than a 4? I get the height, but his game sounds more like a face up four than a power 5.

In the last 4 years we have played....

Deonte Burton at the 4 and 5
Georges at the 5
Melvin at the 4 and 5
Clyburn at the 4
Nick WB at the 4
Deandre Kane at the 4

And we have had the best stretch of basketball in our fine University's history.

Yet you ******* idiots out there keep insisting our big man recruits are 4s.

Need a 7 foot plus. He needs to be a plodder and can't jump. Has to have no court presence, but can foul regularly. Does this fit the description?

Doc,

Let me see if I can respond more tactfully than you did. On offense, we play more positionless in the flow of the offense so you are correct that we have played more without positions on offense. However, we have had undersized players playing post defense and we have been struggled a lot with fouls trouble when we haven't had a rim protector and big enough body to keep our out of position smaller players guarding bigger posts stay out of foul trouble.

Some of you folks are obsessed by inches:)

Whether a guy is 6'10" or 6'6" it doesn't really matter if they can fill what the team needs. ISU is so much better over the last few weeks with Solomon Young at 5 because he is physical, blocks shots and rebounds. Could Young play the 4 next year? Sure if his skills compliment who we play at the 5.

The game has changed- basketball skills are in vogue again after a generation when athleticism was king. Creating mis-matches and matching up also drive today's game. Next year there will be games where our best lineup might be: Wiggington, Jackson, Babb, Long and Young. Against other teams it might be Wiggington, Babb, Lewis, Young and Lard.
