Listening to the postgame reaction show on 100.3 for the first time in years. Surprised that Cyclone Jerry is still alive. Does anyone know how old he is? I’m guessing north of 85, maybe 90. He needs a plaque at Trice or his jersey in the rafters at Hilton.

Rushing 3 so much drives me mad at times, but we did turn up the heat in the 2nd half & especially the 4th quarter, much more like the past few seasons. This season we changed it up & flipped the strategy - pressure in 1st half then bend/don't break in the 2nd, but went back to the well for today's game.

But I must say having our defense deploy this strategy while also rotating a LOT of players - whether due to youth & whatever else - allowed for ISU to maintain a level of play & not collapse despite the disparity in number of plays. We had 2 DEs have to leave plus a couple others (think #29 did & he's a freshman I don't recall playing much, if at all, this season). In years past, we don't have that depth, at all. Not saying we are world beaters (think we could use a solid portal transfer at LB), but Campbell & Co accomplished this after a down season then losing 5 experienced, key players right before the season started. Tremendous job.

Post game is hilarious. Heather and Whitver, whose mic keeps cutting out. Cyclone Jerry has proclaimed our coaches best in the country. Helmet Guy also has called. So now it will just be Heather monologue? Bits and pieces of words by Whitver maybe.

In the moment it is completely agonizing, but preventing the big play (as we saw the opposition have so much trouble with) worked out in the long run and payed off for us in the end.
