It was only the 3rd down. All we would have had to do was call a TO with 1 second left on the clock and then hike the ball and take a knee and it would have been over anyways. Clock mgmt was actually good, assuming MC told Park to stand there as long as he could until the defense came after him.

I echo the puzzlement about going for 2 when it was 28-24.

I also did not understand going for two in that situation....Thankful for the win though

I agree with going for 2 when up by 4 was a dumb move.

I think you'll find that probably close to a 50/50 proposition. Different scenario than down 2 late 3rd quarter.

Going for 2 late 3rd quarter when you're down 2 is the safe statistical play.

Glad to get the win. The team made the key plays down the stretch that we have not made in other games. Hats off to the OL who was more physical than KU in the second half. Also glad to see so many of our skill guys contribute when we needed them to step us and make plays.

go for 2 go up 6 plus field goal=9= 2 scores. 4 plus 3 is 1 score 5 plus 3 is one score and 2 point conversion. Play to win great call

I also believe if you score a TD to go up by 7 you go for 2 and make it 9 instead of an xp to make it 8. When a defense gives up a TD the percentages are very high they will give up a 2 point conversion anyway.

Great work out of both sides of the ball today. Played pretty poorly for most of the 1st half, adjusted, and played well enough to win. Pretty interesting that they had more faith in Harger than Kene when Montgomery got hurt. Warren must be on his way out of here.

This a decision was made based on the ISU defense, not LSU or Alabama. The one downside KU could have gone for 2 for the win.

It's more like the staff didn't want us to fumble the football at that moment and Harger is sure hands..way the Oline was opening holes they knew Harger could get thru and wanted to not fumble the ball away and totally change momentum...When MW decides to stop fumbling at critical moments in ball games then he will play more. Future is Montgomery..he's better anyway. And Kene once he has a full year in off season to mature will be a deadly weapon in the backfield.

Notable that we still have the problem of having about 1.5 quarters each game where we just can't get it together. This game it was the first 20 minutes or so of the game. Fortunate that Kansas didn't have enough talent or whatever to step on our throats.
