With a heavy dose of missed free throws contributing to malaise, funk, and demoralization. A general immature attitude and lack of pride.

And....OU is pretty darn good. I wish I had one of their bigs. We do have Edozie and he should have been used for effect tonight. OrrBall though.

Lol only Iowa St on the road could shoot 55% from the field and lights out from 3 and be tied at half. This team is no different from the Stinson/Blakock teams that didn't do **** on the road.

Here's an idea for practice tomorrow. Learn how to shoot free throws and let Monte do lay ups under the hoop for 2 hours so he can figure out how NOT to brick them 90% of the time

Fred needs to spend more time on defense and employ some of Floyd's junk defenses. Fred won't even change defenses during the game to slow teams down when they're in a groove.

My gawd, Floyd picked his guys to play that style. Hate to break it to you but Shawn Bankhead isn't coming back for a 3rd year.

Is there something in the water in Ames that prevents any of the Cyclone teams from playing ANY Defense????

The 45th best offense in college basketball (entering the game, per KP) just put up 1.29 points per possession. This is a problem.

Too little credit given to these two during the build-up this year. They were terrific players and tough as nails competitors.

They were, but still lost at ku, at OU, at Baylor, at kst, at WVU, at Texas

Like a bunch of hyenas, jumping on the team when they are down. Of course they didn't play great tonight, but most of these posts are ridiculous. Anyone who expected us - or anyone else - to cruise through the Big 12 this year, home AND away, was smoking something funny. The comments about Fred are particularly galling; not one person posting here has half a clue about the game compared to Fred. And since you have no idea what Fred was instructing his players to do, you have even less basis for the stupid comments.

We have a very good team and a great coach. And we lost. Get over it.

Problem you have is that George just can't guard anyone, and it puts a lot of stress on everyone else defensively. As gifted as he is he just isn't able to play defense at this level effectively. It was really a problem tonight and you are seeing teams go after him again and again.

Add to that, Fred just isn't terribly concerned about the defensive side, not until later in the year anyway. It is what it is, I think we will get better but it's going to be really hard to win a road game with this unit.

Hogue probably needs more touches as well.
