I really don't think it's any coincidence we won at Kansas and Bowie didn't play. Guy is easily the worst player on the floor 95% of the time

Played the best of any of our bigs tonight. Easy to blame the loss on the guy with the negative news recently instead of the whole team. I remember our other bigs being out there more when Texas went up big in the first half and Bowie being on the floor in 2nd half when we clawed our way back.

I'm just going by what Naz said yesterday. He said they had to take the momentum from the KU win and win at Texas or else the win at KU will have meant nothing. I was actually really glad he said that, and it's true in a sense.

Obviously the win at KU will help our resume more than the loss at Texas will hurt it, but I still agree with what Naz said.
What do you expect a player to say exactly, that the KU win means they can lose to Texas and it's all good? Of course he's going to say that, good grief.

At 14-9 (6-5), we have to win a minimum of 4 of our last 7 games to go dancing. Our only good wins are against fellow bubble teams and @KU. The win in Lawrence might be enough for us to get in at 17-13 if we win a game in KC, but we'd be in the First Four. We're lucky the bubble is so terrible this year. 18-12 (10-8), we are in. That means we probably have to win out at home...which includes OSU, TCU, and Baylor. We also didn't blow Oklahoma out of the water in the first game. There's not a comfortable win left. The guys just can't put it all together for 40 minutes. Even on Saturday, we didn't. Still not sure how we won that one, but I'll take it.

This is also our worst RPI loss of the year, by far. Doesn't matter how athletic/talented/tall Texas is. They have not put together a good season, and just gave us a really bad loss. I know KenPom has them much higher, but the committee is still using RPI as the main evaluator. We just dropped 7 spots with this loss.

I was really hoping we could dig our way out of the 8-9 or 7-10 game, maybe win 5 or 6 of the last 8. Hoped we had turned a corner after Saturday. We just might...by getting an 11 seed. Where was the urgency we needed? Where was the hustle? Consistently inconsistent. But we keep watching, because we are all masochists.

I dont know if you watch other Big 12 teams but the middle teams are losing alot of games. Plus teams like TCU have brutal schedules coming up. In looking at schedules, there will be alot of teams in that 8-10 to 10-8 mark. If we can get 3 more wins we will be fine.

If we are 9-9 in conference we are in. And I don't see anyway we end up worse than 10-8
You don't see any way? lol, words have meaning, you can't just say things just to say them.

edit: like you literally can't imagine losing out on the road and losing to Baylor at home? You can't possibly fathom or comprehend that as a possibility?

That KU win is huge on the resume, but we still have to win games like tonight's or we won't end up with enough wins to even be considered for the tourney. I'd say 5 more wins is what we need.

We need 5 more wins? Are you crazy?!?! You jsut said we need to be 11-7 in order to get in the tournament. PLease.

Got the look.

Nice game, good battle back.

If anyone think Texas is bad, they're an idiot...that likely won't stop the idiocy from continuing.

Lol Texas is not good at all. Anyone with eyes or little basketball knowledge could see that tonight. There's a reason we didn't get blown out after the start we had.

Don't be too sure about that. This team will have trouble getting up for nearly every game we have left, except for Baylor.
They don't care and don't show up when we play teams we're favored to beat. Nothing ticks me off more than teams that do that. It means that you aren't a team of "winners". I still believe Monte is, but I'm not sure about anyone else?

Winners want to win every game they play in. They want to win at everything they do, no matter what the competition is or who they are playing in front of. That is NOT this team. Sorry, it just isn't.
It was a tough spot tonight. Short turnaround after a huge emotional overtime win. We were just flat. We play some home games we will win. Baylor will be tough. We better be ready for KSU, and of course WVU is no cake walk. Still see 10 wins at least.

Lol, whatever helps you sleep tonight. I dont care how athletic they are, they are terrible. If only something like records gave an indication of how good teams were, 9-13 is pathetic. This is the worst Big 12 loss since Hoibergs first year.
Incorrect. Tech Fred's last year I think was 0-fer before we strolled into Lubbock. We got absolutely THRASHED in Morgantown in his last or second to last year.

Yep, I will sleep just fine tonight, hopefully.

It's a basketball game.

Played by 18-22 year olds.

It was frustrating to see a loss that was *this* close but I hope life can go on for some of you...seems unlikely. I had this penciled in a loss and it happened. So did several people in the 'Predictions' thread today.

I'm always amazed when I see people hint at their age on here...all indications are it ranges from people in their 20's-70's but they meltdown like 9 year olds because of a basketball team that's not much better than NCAA tourney-qualifying with some luck. I suppose I've been there but at some point perspective has to set in.

This team just isn't that good folks. At KU we made a ton of bad, guarded 3's that never should have been shot. That's what we do, but most nights you don't hit 18 of them like we did at KU.

Tech at least had a winning overall record when we lost that game Hoibergs final season. They were 11-9 overall, Texas came in 9-14.

We lost by like 30 in Morgantown the Kane and Ejim year I think, that wasnt a bad loss though. West Virginia was at least a good team that season.
