Now we just need to win out and get a 4 seed and it can be a successful season...just saying it would give 4 top 20 wins And big 12 tourney title if we did...aim high

Why would you want to complain? Are you determined to be ******* miserable. Idiot.
No my life is awesome actually, I would feel sorry for you that you are so upset after a win, but I don't care about you, so I don't.

And if Tech hits that 3 a split second earlier, everyone is on here ripping Prohm a new one. Goes with the territory of getting paid millions to coach big time ball.

We were very clumsy down the stretch, and I thought Babb did some good things for us. We just as easily could have lost that game as win it the way we handled the last few minutes (which it should not have come down to), and I'm going to blame the head coach nearly every time over a student athlete, that's for sure in those situations.
Or you could have a basic understanding of the reality of this conference this year and not rip on anyone if a close road loss happens. The usual "any road win in conference" line usually had a couple caveat teams. This year the big 12 doesn't.
Despite all the experts on here that think they know more than all the analytics out there, this conference is great. Not good, GREAT. ISU just beat a desperate team that has been really good on their home court to go 5-3 on the road when one of our best players had a horrible night.
There is simply nothing any reasonable fan can be upset about with this team tonight. Not a perfect game, but any team can win when everything goes right. Great win for the team and staff with Deonte really off and overcoming some missed FT.
To top it off Miami beat Virginia. 6 seed here we come

I read "aim high" as "I am high.":)

This team isn't done. I know that.

Just enjoying every minute of it, win or lose.

Glad we won but wish they could have made some late free throws to make it easy for them and us fans who had to listen to those idiot announcers longer that we deserved!

No ****. I so wanted to punch that little midget east coast ********** when he was complaining about over the back call on Gray towards the end. Are you ******* kidding me? How was that not a foul you douchebag!!

Yours is an agenda against Prohm, big difference on the approach.
He has won 5 ******* road games, I will repeat that for you 5 road games.

Either the guy can coach or this team is the luckiest bunch of SOB's ever to throw a ball in a peach basket

Prohm is doing a very good job since coming to ISU. In fact, other than a handful of "elite" coaches, there is nobody I'd rather have right now coaching at ISU. I think he's better than Hoiberg at most things too, and I would rather have him than Hoiberg too. Is that enough for you?

Does that mean I won't criticize him when he makes boneheaded decisions? Nope. Sorry. He's a big boy, making big bucks.... I'm sure he can handle it. In fact, I'm sure he could care less what any of us losers has to say anyway.

Have to come back with a shout out to Solomon. My early post stated he was looking like a raw freshmen. And quite frankly, the first half he did. BUT....he came back tough and was huge down the stretch. Keep working and learning, young man!

No, it's because the coach is being paid millions, but NOBODY pays money to come watch the coach. If the players are going to get all the blame, and not the head coach, then they should be the ones making millions since that's who people pay good money to come watch.

Burton, and all the other players, have WAY more too worry about in life than Prohm does. They have school to attend, tests to take, money struggles, uncertain futures to worry about, etc, etc, etc. Prohm is set for life if he loses his job tomorrow.

So yes, if Burton dribbles off his foot, I tend to give him a break. We have no idea what it's like to be in his shoes. If I was his age and trying to play major level basketball, go to school, worry about your future.... all while doing it without your Mom in your life any longer.... then dribbling the ball off your foot is quite understandable from my view.

Fair enough. You said it was on Prohm for having Babb in at the end of the game. Who should have he had in there in those exact circumstances with 2 starters fouled out? Do you want Bowie and his 40% free throw percentage? Holden, who's not much better and seldom catches the ball cleanly? Do you want pom pom Simeon or Greder to peel off the warmups and see if they can come up big for us?

Prohm isn't blameless for the struggles we've had but things seem to be rounding into shape pretty nicely and you're acting like we just lost to Iowa again. This is a helluva win and criticizing him for who is on the court in the 44th minute of a game with no reasonable alternative just screams out that you have a vendetta. I don't really pay attention to the patterns of individual posters and even I can see that.

On Chris Williams' instant podcast, he said that ISU "caught some breaks tonight." So, I'm not the only one. I didn't say that caught EVERY break but TTU had at least 3 easy fast break chances that they didn't finish.
The fact that the last shot was taken after the buzzer proves that we got some breaks. How Iowa State would it be to lose in Lubbock by a buzzer beater? That right there says we got at least one. no doubt that hitting EVERY free throw would've been key, but it's hard to understand the pressure of the situation without being in it. I think all in all, we shot well from the line, but those shots at the end would've saved about 18 people on here from having minor heart attacks. That's why people literally live and die by the Cyclones.

Even on the plays he isn't registering a rebound or block, he's making things much more difficult inside. On offense he is hustling setting screens and made those huge free throws toward the end of regulation.

I think we learned a few things about this team tonight, although some of it is not new, just a reaffirmation:
  1. This team has great character and finds a way to win, even when things are not going well.
  2. People used to rag on this team's defense, but the balance this team has on offense and defense is really impressive.
  3. Monte showed great leadership tonight, what with his second half scoring and his ball control. Gotta watch every minute of him I can, because soon he will only be a memory as a Cyclone, like Niang and Ejim.
  4. Naz also showed leadership with his tough defense and scoring, plus his demeanor on the court.
  5. Some people are awful hard on Weiler-Babb. Personally, I am looking forward to him playing a much bigger role next year - and we will need him.
  6. Matt Ice - every time he scores I think of the awful things said about him in his freshman and sophomore years. Posters were awful; now everyone loves him, but what I really like about this man is he understands that you don't need others loving you, you just need to love yourself. I will miss him next year too.
  7. Feel sorry for Burton. He had a terrible game tonight, but I expect him to come out like gangbusters next game - hope I am right. He clearly struggles with the mental side of the game, and that has to be hugely frustrating for someone with his talent.
  8. Finally, I am liking Solomon more each game. Can only imagine what a terror he will be on the court in his junior and senior years.
Great teams find ways to win. This team is coming to look more and more like a great team.

Oh, and yes, thanks SP for bringing this team together, blending offense and defense. I sure hope you are enjoying your successes, because I know you were really hurting when things were not going so well.

In another sea of negativity after a ******* Big 12 conference WIN, just love this post. I remember the relentless crap said about Matt in particular. Felt Weiler-Babb was in a bad spot, because he played a lot of minutes tonight and really hasn't been in those end of game situations much but we had little choice.

Always glad to get a win, thought the refs were *********.

In Roadhouse, nobody wins a fight.

In ISU basketball, nobody complains in a road win.
I'm not talking about complaining after the win, I'm talking in the moment of the situation, I wanted to ***** to my lamp about the crap we were getting called for, but then we won, so I'm happy.

I think that's just expected from a freshman, especially in only his 4th start. To have him keep at it and be a significant part of the win though...

I could only follow the box score, but I believe he had 3 turnovers in the 1st half, and ended up with 3 and only improved elsewhere. Really great stuff right there. I hope he punks Baylor a few times.

Oh, for sure. Half joking.

I generally feel stupid for even caring at all about the result of a bunch of college kids just trying to win a basketball game, let alone having to pace around about it. Such is life.

If you have an ISU degree, please mail it back to the registrar with an apology.

Proud to be an ISU alum. Proud of everything ISU. Always will be. Nothing that anyone on here can say that will change that.

You don't know me, so it might be best for you to just shut it. Amazing how everyone on here finds it in their hearts to rip me apart personally, even though I don't rip anyone else personally. Interesting? But I'm the bad guy? Got it.

All I want is for my ISU teams that I support with all my heart to be the absolute best they possibly can be so that they get to reach all the goals they have for themselves and more. I guess I deserve to be called out with personal attacks for that on these boards. Oh well. So be it. By all means keep it up if it makes you feel better.

As I mentioned before the fact Young contested the rebound on the missed cost Tech time to move the ball forward, sometimes teams help create their own breaks. Just a different spin on things
