Our screen defense is awful
Parks interception was also awful, I'm gonna keep watching
Butler is good, players thinks it's over. We shoud run that play more.

Bad kickoff.
1st Down: Almost picked off Stanley
2nd Down: Wadley stuffed, looking good ISU
3rd Down: Incomplete
4th Down: Punt, ISU should never lose this game. 3:32 left, with ball, up 7

Our Oline can't get a push, too conservative

Awesome Punt, we're winning
Offensive PI, bad no call, nice grab 1st down, ****
Stanley looks like Aaron Rodgers
JFC, terrible tackling ISU, ball game blouses.

A couple notes I saw:
Matthew Eaton *Recorded his first career receptions.
Joel Lanning *Made a career-high 11 tackles, his first game in double figures.
Chase Allen *Made his first career catch.

And just watched the highlights and I can't believe how many "holy crap" things Montgomery does each week. 36 yard run was amazing. Reception where he threw the defender off. Trucking Jewel at the goal line. Forearm shiver...

Watching OU v Buckeyes and the idea that Iowa is better on D than OU is laughable. Per play there is no way they are on the same level. This repeated idea that was the best D we'll play is silly. I wish it were true because ISU would be a big 12 contender.

That was a nice hok thought before the game today.

I think the team played well and it was called well. I just wish out D would have had a spy on some of those short out passes and jumped one for 6. Even TD in OT there should have been some one sneak out there after the snap and help out. The staff will learn and move one.

Best Iowa D ever. Just like they have the best Oline in the country.

KCM missing the second half had to hurt in this regard. If there was a guy that you'd want to spy on Wadley, it's Kamari.

Just a few thoughts...

-Montgomery's hit on Jewel on his TD run was one for the ages....the guy is an all conference RB
-Would like to see Montgomery get more plays on the edge where he is even more effective
-ISU will score a lot of points the season, but I worry about their ability to consistently stop the teams
-The defense seems to play agrresively on first and second down, but passively on third down
-The team is clearly better than last year, and six wins is within reach, but far from certain
-Overall, very happy with their effort and am wearing my cardinal & gold proudly today. Football is trending up at ISU

Who cares about reputation? ISU's reputation coming into this game was that the secondary was salty, but the front seven was weak. Yet at the end of the day, Iowa threw for 333 yards and only averaged 4.0 ypc on the ground (not a particularly strong number with a back like Wadley carrying the bulk of the load).

Iowa does have a few playmakers on offense (Wadley obviously being at the top of that list), and they've got an offensive coordinator who's far less predictable than his predecessor (they've been breaking a lot of KOK/Greg Davis tendencies this year so far). They do have some ability to actually stretch the field (Smith-Marsette has legit speed, and the tight ends are downfield threats, as well). Stanley missed on some big opportunities today, but he's also got a lot of potential (big arm, he showed much better pocket presence and poise today than week 1), and those opportunities were there because they finally have guys who can separate/create some mismatches.

Doesn't change the overall point--Iowa is not a big time offense and our D got torched by them.
