And when you win, you get more money...so winning influences money. really they are one in the same for an AD almost.

I think you are right there...Gmac IS a good coach. He's just been snake bit and I'm afraid he won't get it turned around. You hand the keys to a top notch program to Greg he'd win and win big..problem is a guy like him at a place like ISU means he's got to have some luck, some breaks to go his way. Needless to say....
I'm sort of blown away at the anger toward Greg's actual coaching ability...the problem is we still don't have any talent. People think we have talent but I promise you we do not have talent on this team. We've been outmatched in the talent department all season long against nearly every Big 12 team. You can certainly blame part of that on Greg but just because SC throws a pass at Dendy's ankles does not mean Greg is a bad coach.

Let's see - we have a chance to win at the end of regulation and we don't get a shot off. Then with 11 seconds left in OT with another chance to win, we throw a toe pass on a break that goes out of bounds. And to top it off, we allow the guy to dribble the length of the floor for the winning shot without having to pass the ball.
Back when we won conference titles our defense was stellar. We battled to stay close until the last five minutes, then we out-executed the opponent. Until we get that mentality back, we will keep losing close games.

I dont know anymore. Why did we have problems scoring with 17 sec left in the game, yet the other team can go the lenght of the court unchallanged and make the game winning shot. That is coaching.
No, but look at his body of work. O-20 with ranked teams is unacceptable and non competitive.
Did I say, if I were a coach? Actually I have been a coach and have won more games than you have played. Not the point; not even close. The coach's job is to put the best players in the best position to be successful. You may call it making them better but I call it enabling to players to be successful.
The problem here failure of execution. Players in the wrong position. Players not finishing. I expect that if John Wooden was on the sideline and Craig go the ball down low and missed; everyone would kill Craig. Since it is Greg McD., it has to be the coaching that lead to the brain fart (twice)! And to start OT.
Everyone keeps saying this is Craig's team. Where is the leadership? It is not just this game. Let me repeat my point. Craig is not ready for the NBA. He hasn't show it all year. Anyone who keeps saying to jump ship will see him, at best, warm the bench for a couple of years. And that is because you cannot teach height.
I not sure about that. I have seen comparisons to LE...and if I recall there was a thread about how LE is doing at Southern Miss. It may not be glamorous or high paying, but he is sober, there is less pressure, and he loves what he is doing. So just think of ISU being Billy G's Southern Miss.
