You have to credit Mangino for the genius shovel pass to get the first down on 3rd and long. But when your QB throws a pass into triple coverage under no pressure at all on the next play and it gets picked I get worried.

At least we aren't too far behind. We still have a shot to win this game. I don't know if it will matter much if we play the rest of the season like we did the 2nd quarter... It isn't that they played great, we just played that badly. A couple of bounces our way and we could be in a commanding lead. I didn't like the fact that we couldn't get that 1 yard on a power formation. That is more about effort.

I don't see anything different this year at all folks.

The 1st quarter was kind of a fluke. I think NDSU was a bit nervous to start, but are settling down big time now and starting to dominate us in the trenches on both sides.

I'm just so sick and tired of being the "cute" finesse team. That is BS! This is football, not dance class.

UNI ran it down our throats last year and physically manhandled us, and now NDSU is starting to do the same. And on the other side, we can't run it at all on them. So we're forced to throw, and guess what, our WR's can't get open, so Sam is running for his life again.

This offense looks EERILY similar to last year right now. I cannot understand why we can't enforce our will on them and run the ball?

I'm going to just ignore this thread until after the game. We are playing a good team, people. Give our guys a shot. Half of you are ready to write off the season after we have a bad qtr.

Just wait until we play a team like Kansas state or Iowa. Yikes! Gotta fix this or the football program's wheels are officially gone.

People are venting. I think the raised reason for alarm is we sucked last year and this team looked a LOT like the 2013 version in the 2nd quarter

A good FCS team who is playing with 14 new starters on both sides of the ball with a new coaching staff. This is pathetic and there is no sugar coating it.

I disagree. Things went south when Farniok left the game. Scripted plays has nothing to do with it.

Farniok going out did not help your right, but clearly the overall execution for the first 20 plays, were pretty much flawless, and that tells me it was scripted and heavily practiced.

Once we got out of of them, the execution was just not good, timing off. Its to be expected, its gonna take time for this offense to get better. No surprise here.

Now all that said, if you look at lots of the 1-AA teams around the country, they are winning their share of games against D 1 schools We are allegedly playing one of the best so its not as bad as we all think.

I would feel more confident if we could get something going on the ground. If not, put a fork in us IMO. If they make us one dimensional, then forget it.

Halftime couldn't come soon enough there in that last quarter. Our defense was completely gassed and getting gouged big time. Same old story there.... the offense can't stay on the field at all and the defense just gets worn down until there's nothing left in the tank.
