Camp #5:
You care way too much to risk bad mojo by actually watching the game.
In the past, every time you turn it on they're up by 8 and after 5 minutes of watching they've not scored, gotten 3 techicals, best player is ejected, second best player is injured. Opposing teams unheralded player comes off the bench to score 15 points on 5 for 5 from 3 point land. Cyclones are now behind.
So you just never risk watching.
After you're pretty sure the game is over you muster up your courage and check the ESPN scores. You tell yourself, "It's just a game, it doesn't matter," before you check it to prepare yourself for the worst. Finally you get up the nerve. You see the result and either shut the computer down - or go check the game thread and post game comments, reveling in the post game positives.
Like today's game, if you're reading the game thread, you tell yourself, I'm glad I didn't watch, I would have jinxed it for sure! So glad I didn't have to ride that emotional roller coaster of those who watched. Wow, some of these posters sure are negative, bet they're glad they were wrong.
