Because my husband is from the dark side and has had UI bb tickets forever I "get" to see the Hawkeyes play as well. I truly believe Lickliter will not play Tucker. If I say so myself, he is a breath of fresh air as a coach for the Hawkeyes. I have seen the Hawkeyes play bad and well (very well last night). I think we will be OK. Let's let the guys play the gave and cheer them on to victory!! I'll be the crazy lady 15 rows up at half court wearing my Cardinal and Gold and cheering my lungs out! Go Cyclones!! Keep the faith!

At least we probably won't be going up against a zone. This means more opportunities to get the ball into Brackins and more DG drives.

I don't see a win on fri.

Brian,
You are thinking along with the Sagarin computer with Iowa rated #62 and ISU #126. Unless our team puts out some major effort, it will be a loss. So far we are playing at a lower current Sagarin level than we did the last two years, post Mike Taylor, post Jiri. We need a dependable go to option for scoring.

Just the facts, Jack.

Of course, Iowa will bring back their leading scorer for this game, and magically continue his suspension afterwards. Nice try on covering up the crime Coach....

Think the court will be flooded too?

And you'd be surprised too that Iowa would flood their field to slow us down - Iowa 'anything for a win' Hawkeye Jon Miller.

Wow. There's pills for what you have - get some.

Interesting game. One we could easily win by 10+ and lose by the same margin. I'd like to think we'll win - but I don't see it as likely.

Just possible.

Iowa might win but it will not be by the 20 points that some predict. We really didn't shoot the ball that well against Drake. And Iowa had an easy time after adjustments against UNI's center. Alex will step up the D on Friday against Tate....... Craig, we need a game from you! We can win this one!

Rebounding is going to kill us in this game. Lick plays D and rebounds that is his style. Our 2nd and 3rd leading rebounders are our two PGs! :goofy:

The clones can easily win this game if they play well. Iowa will not blow out many, if any, decent teams this year. Gatens is the key to the season imo. If he can learn to love the pull up jumper in the lane he can be really good and help solve a spacing issue that will hurt Iowa against better teams.

How did Greg blow it last night? F-

He better get a W in Iowa City on Friday.

You did see McDermott SCREAMING for a time out while petey heaved up that desperation 3 didn't you?

Greg didn't lose us this game.

Do I sometimes disagree and not like his offense? Sure

However, we lost because the guys weren't rebounding on defense (16 - 2 second chance points) and they weren't in position defensively (sending drake to the line 26 times)

We played a lot of the second half with a 4 guard lineup and Brackins in the middle. When we are jacking up 3's left and right on offense there was nobody there to rebound - all of our guards were on the perimeter standing around.

Iowa will probably play a zone like Drake did and try to limit CB's touches and collapse on him when he does get the ball.

We have to be much quicker about getting him the ball inside. The window of opportunity is very small.

If Craig doesn't get the ball, it isn't his fault if isn't scoring. The only way it is his fault is if he isn't working to get open. But versus Drake, I saw several occassions where Craig worked hard to get open and nobody saw him or could get him the ball.

Someone GET CRAIG the BALL.

Tucker won't play. I'll bet all of my credits on it at 20:1 odds.

Rebounding is work. You need to be aggressive and playing smart and moving your feet. Hoops 101.

I think Iowa will beat us and reason being is we cannot rebound the freakin ball who on this team wants to bang the boards down low is my question?? Also, when the opposing defense figures out your offense coach why not try something different for a change more picks and back screens and especially more movement on offense!! In my eyes way to much standing around there are five players on the floor so five players need to score to keep the Defense guessing. To keep a player from penetrating deep into the paint pick them up at half court and put your quickest player on the point gaurd or extend a 2-3 zone to plug up those lanes
