Brackins is a very nice player, but nobody is going to triple team him.

I believe he is talking about after the ball goes inside and players come inside to defend. I really doubt any bb player ever gets double or triple teamed all the time. Don't believe that would be a very good defensive scheme on any team.

I wouldn't. I've had a boycott on Iowa City since 2001 when Seneca beat Iowa for their only loss. We had to drive home at midnight because redneck Iowa fans kept starting fights with us everywhere we went.

Sorry to hear about that, but football over there is a different animal and I really don't think you would run into this after a basketball game, it is much more laid back as you can tell from the attendance we get at CHA.

Well, when I lift the self-imposed 10 year ban in 2012 I'll give Iowa City another shot.

It will be, last I heard was less then 2,000 tickets remain and it holds 15,500. How many are Cyclone fans I have no idea.

The attendance last time in Iowa City was somewhere between 13.5 and 14, so that sounds about right. As has been mentioned previously - boring basketball + low expectations = small crowds. That and the stink from the last basketball coach is still being fumigated from the building.

Yeah, whatever. Obviously it wasn't Alford's fault after all.

What about all of those dedicated Hawk fans who said they would buy season tickets again as soon as Alford was fired? What happened to them? :skeptical:

Re: this is the most pathetic poor ol lil isu thread

Lets be sane about this, this so proclaimed invincible Iowa team needed a big run to get to 24 points at the half against UNI.

They also went on to beat UNI by something like 20 points.

They are probably hanging out with all the people that said they'd come back when Wayne was fired.

Not sure what you mean, Bryce. Attendance under Mac's 1st 2 years is higher than Wayne's last 2.

Haven't had enough time to read everything but anyone think Thompson gets booed badly tonight? I doubt it, a few boos maybe but most Hawk fans were glad to see him go I think.

McDermott knows Gatens' potential.

"I've always been a Matt Gatens fans," McDermott said of the Iowa City High product. "He seems to have made himself a better 3-point shooter than he was in high school. He's a big reason they've had the success they've had at this point."

I don't like our coach Compliminting the Hawks or their players
