Perspective is important for things like this.

The guy was in charge of coaching a bunch of guys to play a game.

That guy left to take a bigger and better job elsewhere.

A bunch of hurt feelings does not equal the worst thing that could have happened.

Nobody is in jail. Nobody is sick or seriously injured or dead. It's life. People fail you sometimes, and you learn from it and move on.
