The concerning thing is how the team looked unprepared and very undisciplined today.

Paul made a terrible decision to accept the holding penalty when we made a stop on 3rd down that would have made it 4th and 2. Then Laing gets a dumb personal foul and Rhoads chews him out. Probably doesn't happen if the coach doesn't make a terrible decision.
Right call, we stopped them, Paul can't be asked to account for players making stupid penalties.

Kickoff out of bounds and we decline? Great decision Paul, especially when the return only gets to the 30.
Only lost 5 yards, we needed a spark at that point, a big kick return would have been just that. Fine with the call.

Last year in the bowl game we pull the QB that had arguably the biggest win in ISU history after a quarter and a half cause JB started ineffective. This year Sam Richardson is allowed to QB for 2 quarters (2nd and 3rd) when he played absolutely terrible, worse than I have ever seen terrible. Jantz (who beat Tulsa earlier) gets to come in when Tulsa has stopped playing aggressive man D and dropped to soft zone. Had Jantz come in after half, he would have had a shot to beat them over the top like he did earlier this year.
Impossible to pin this solely on the play of Richardson. Poor running game, inconsistent defense, bad penalties, Tulsa's running game, all had atleast as much to do with the way the game turned out. You need to pick a QB and go, not change them every time the wind changes direction.

Rhoads was aweful this game. Stuff runs down hill and the rest of the team followed. This was top down terrible play today.
This thread is awful.

I just find it frustrating for Rhoads to chew into players when his coaching was absolutely terrible today. Who is chewing his ***

Coach did not coach a good game today but he should have been yelling at Laing for that absolutely boneheaded play. If I was coach Laing would not have seen the field the rest of the day, it was that stupid of a play.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize that every good coach is undefeated. Seriously, our freshman QB was sick and the program is still being built.

Paul Rhoads was aweful in his decisions today, despite what some are grasping at. The team followed. This better not become a trend in bowl games. This is the 2nd year in a row that we are basically a completely different team in the bowl game. Something has got to change and I lay that on the coaches. Sorry if some of what I am saying is based in over-reaction, but there is some truth in there as well.

If anyone put this game on the defense, you were not watching the same game as me. Our offense was terrible as usual and their 2nd and 3rd scores were both only about 50 yard drives because our offense sucks. Something does need to be done, but blaming the whole game on a couple dumb penalties is silly.

We were the same team. Full of stupid decisions, bad throws and bad blocking. What games have you been watching all season?

CPR has done more for ISU FB in 4 years than any coach in our history. This program was a train wreck when he took over and he has fixed the train. When you have to build a program and players from what they were, it takes more than 4 years. What CPR has done at ISU in such a short time is outstanding. Yes the program has to move foward from here. Yes CPR has made some mistakes. Yes it sucks to lose these games. But to imply he has no control over this program and we may need to find a new coach is flat out crazy.

Precisely. We weren't exactly lighting the world on fire this season, particularly at the end.

Ben Bruns must agree with you because he blamed the Offense for this loss...9 first downs and 56 total plays wont win a game against Ames High School let alone the tulsa hurricanes.

Thought of a positive, we can stop worrying about programs hiring our coach away. This was not exactly a resume building season and it got capped by this bowl thumping.

What I watched was a team collapse, on both sides of the ball. The D was not getting to the ball or wrapping up. I don't even want to see what Tulsa's YAC was tonight. Offensively, the zone read in this offense is so slow to develop and get past the line of scrimmage. How many times were we 3rd and long? If you said "every time" you would be close.

A montage of suck: First play of texas game this year. The texas game this year. The WVU game this year. The Iowa Game offense this year. That last throw of Barnett against KSU when we were so in play. The Texas Tech game at home this year. 3rd down and 8 pass coverage against WVU that was giving the 12 yard buffer. Rutgers sucking and knowing we suck more. Basically every run play. The Oklahoma game with our great 3 man rush on Landry Jones.....why even freaking play?
