I want the seating to be more vertical and closer to the field. That mockup has ez seating like our sideline seating. Which is not ideal for acoustics.
If you want to connect to lower decks evenly, it would be impossible to do, short of tearing up the entire lower bowl. Otherwise, the SEZ would need to be separate from the rest of the stadium to change the pitch of the lower deck seating.

That being said, I think this is a fairly accurate mockup of what it will actually look like. The standard lower bowl that connects to the side lower decks (which will hold the students), an endzone club seating section to help boost revenue, and then the upper deck that is disconnected from the other upper decks so that it can be built with a steeper pitch and can be sold for cheap. I really like that rendering.

If this happens I think we'll finally see the end of the intramural fields and good riddance.

Agreed! Lots of great parking and revenue to be had there. (and we need the parking) I can see a land swap for that land w/ the old SW athletic complex. (would also allow expansion of xc course)

They have already done a land swap with the old SW Athletic complex for the Towers Intramural fields which is now the Cyclone Sports Complex.

The only way this happens is if te AD finds land to replace what they would take. This happened with the southwest athletics complex and the towers deal. I was in a meeting with rec services with JP presenting on the deal with various sports clubs several years ago when this was being put in to action. The main concerns of the student sports clubs was to make sure they did not lose any land and that the quality of AD's land would be restored/improved. While the AD is very important, the university wants to maintain the quality of student life on campus, and that includes having enough fields for rec services to use as intermural fields throughout the year.
