Our home games this season:
UNI (sellout for sure)
Iowa (sellout for sure)
Texas (sellout for sure if we are 3-0, probably will break 50k as long as we're at least 2-1 unless)
Oklahoma State (Will break 50k as long as the season isn't a dumpster fire)
TCU (See above)
Kansas (The Saturday before Thanksgiving, this could be sketchy to getting to 50k)

Kansas could be a very easy one to get well past 50k. If students are gone, just run a special like the Okie State one. There's plenty of demand around to snatch up those tickets.

I suspect that we will see 56,800 passed a few times ... when Pollard wants to set a new stadium record. I suspect that these numbers are managed a bit for PR. Look for the next record to be set when we are playing a highly ranked team and likely to be on national TV.
Disagree. I think 56,800 will be the ceiling with the current stadium format. Even if we're monkeying with the numbers a bit, what helps you make the case for a major stadium improvement? Setting a new stadium attendance record by a few hundred patrons for a big game each year, or bumping up against the ceiling with "sell outs" at the same frequency? I'd say it's the latter, and I don't think we'll see that ceiling move again until the south endzone is done.

Fire code is fire code. (even if the stadium is concrete and metal)

It's all about exiting. If you have a new SEZ, and along with it, you bring an appropriate exit strategy - you can add a decent amount of people. I can't tell you how many, but this is the way it works.

ISU heading to the "MAC conference" rumors were the most inane, irresponsible predictions ever by a collection of dooooshbag rival fans and in-state media here.

ISU in the last three years averaging over 50,000/game for FB, while the MAC averaged 16,800 in 2012

good gawd these pundits are morons

50,000+ vs 16,800. how dumb are these people?

Iowa State is also one of just a handful of teams to go both bowling and make the tournament the last two years in a row.

The SEZ is kind of like the Crazy Horse memorial. Something I would really like to see completed in my lifetime. I think I have a better chance with the SEZ than Crazy Horse.

I still find it hilarious that the Crazy Horse Memorial is being "built" in Custer County, SD...

If 56,800 is the ceiling, I think it is a soft ceiling that JP is using for his purposes, not a hard ceiling from the fire department.

Nope. It was announced last season. 56,800 is a hard ceiling. They can't let anyone in after that.

JTS has issues handling a crowd of 52,000. If the endzone gets bowled in things should be done to ease the current issues. If you add seats you do things to raise the 56,800 ceiling.

If this happens I think we'll finally see the end of the intramural fields and good riddance.
