We are finally making progress last year and this year on DLine recruiting. Great to have him on board. Continuing this trend will mean a lot for the future of ISU football. Welcome to the Cyclones.

Nice, don't see us getting too many recruits from Indy. Great pickup! Welcome to the family, Pierre.

For those asking...ACT=17.

Not often are kids of this size recruited as ATH. I personally would like to see him at DE or, if he is able to add the bulk, DT.

Great get, IMO.

If he can add the weight, I'd like to see him follow in McDonough's footsteps. Start out as a DE, and work your way up to DT with weight gain.

A 4.83 40 doesn't seem quite good enough for TE or DE IMO. But would be a great time for an athletic DT.

1st round picks Adrian Clayborn and J. J. Watt would suggest that a 4.83 or higher is just fine.

Uhhhh, yeah. 4.83 is plenty good enough to get around the end.

For comparison sake, Clayborn as a HS Senior:

6'3"
270 (ish)
4.73 40

Remember him? I do.

Another compare, might hit closer to home...Jason Berryman (make sure to take note of yne size difference):

6'2"
230
4.6 40

Are you ******* kidding me? 4.83 for a DE out of highschool? JFC man you are ridiculous. He is 6'4" 260 going into his Senior year!

No way every Northwestern athlete has a 30 on their ACT. Can someone find Shontrelle's ACT? he was originally committed to NW.

exactly, how often will he be asked to run 40yds. All that matters is his first few steps. Being quick > than being fast for DE

I would assume hes going to be a DT here... he would have to be a very very good athlete and not put on much more weight if hes going to stay at DE.

I can't let the 4.83 "doesn't seem quite good enough" for DE go. At first, I was basing my side (that it is) on a hunch, but then did a very, very small amount of research.

A couple of years ago, the measure from the combine of a quality level NFL DE prospect was 4.75. Julius Peppers ran a 4.68 his senior year...at North ******* Carolina.

Now, I admit, there is more to the position than a 40 time, but to say 4.83 from a HS kid doesn't quite cut the mustard is flat out wrong.

I (apparently) have a different opinion than most others here. I think Pierre Aka will be a future offensive guard. Darn near mirror image of Oni Omoile. Those would be two very athletic, quick guards that are mobile and can get downfield in a hurry.
