I dont get the obsession with sage.
Lets make something clear. There is a 0% chance that Sage is on staff. You are all idiots.

And Troy Davis as RB coach.![]()

But all former Iowa State players will be good coaches since Fred is. Sage coaching QBs, Bruns for the o-line, Collin Franklin at tight ends, Troy Davis at running backs, and Todd Blythe at receivers. I'm sure Berryman will be a great defensive ends coach too.![]()
and he can spell his own name?Actually, I'd prefer Darrin Davis, no interpreter required.![]()
I think that some people need to calm down and remember that while ISU does have a lot of young talent on its roster and that may look attractive to a new OC, its still ISU. Some people want to make a big splash hire but forget that if they would have success over the next couple of years then he would be hired by a bigger school. ISU needs someone who will be here for the long haul and has ties to the area that would want them to stay in Ames.
The new OC will have to be a guy that knows who to make adjustments during a game. They need to be able to take advantage of the deep WR core that ISU will have and be able to mix the WR's up. ISU has some tall guys and speedy short guys. Mix it up! Also, get Winberly to catch the ball out of the backfield would be nice because with that speed getting him in space is important. A LB isn't going to be able to keep up with him. All that being said if the O-line doesn't progress and become a solid unit next season nothing else will matter.
Yes, bringing in someone like Flynn would be nice as a position coach to learn the role of a D-1 coach would be great. Sage needs to start coaching at least at the high school ranks before being brought in. He has no experience being on the other side of things as a coach and has never sat down in a livingroom talking to a recruit or parents. CFH was at least in a front office position and at practices asking all sorts of questions. He just didn't come in off the streets to coach.
CPR said the he is going to be on the recruiting trail for the next two weeks and then will start to filter through candidates. Sturdy and coach K are still a possibility or both could be gone based on who is hired as the OC and how much control they're given to run the offense. I would love for Coach K to stay on staff because of his track record as an O-Line coach.
Lets make something clear. There is a 0% chance that Sage is on staff. You are all idiots.
if that is the case we will also need an interpreter lol
Um, which something were you trying to make clear? The 0% thing or the bit about the idiots?
That there is 0% chance that Sage is on staff. And that those who think otherwise are idiots. It is pretty clear.
We need a "funny" button next to the "like" button. For posts like the one quoted here-- I think it's very funny, but I just can't click "Like" on something that makes fun of Troy Davis.![]()
On the staff there is a chance but I would agree 0% chance he is the OCThat there is 0% chance that Sage is on staff. And that those who think otherwise are idiots. It is pretty clear.
Dave Christensen would be a home run hire. I just hope Rhoads is looking to hire a guy outside the program this time.
This entire line of thinking is complete and utter horse ****. You know who wants an OC that wants to come here and never leave? A losing Iowa State football program, that's who. What ISU needs is an offensive coordinator that is good enough that someone wants to hire him as a head coach because of the job that he did at ISU.
