My neighbor is the son of a family business that does really really well.. His dad and brother are both ISU grads... I dont know how to politely ask how much they are donating, and then telling them to donate more!! They are also not big sports fans.. But my neighbor always asks me to take him to a football game and then flakes out.

Consider taking your neighbor to the August scrimmage instead of a football game. Hopefully the AD and the Gridiron Club use this opportunity to expand the base. Your neighbor's family would be the ideal candidates for the SEZ Club - where the social is as (or more) important than the athletics.

I was thinking about starting up my own shoe company, and am currently looking for donors for some start up capital. Would also help if anyone had an old building I could use for my factory, AC not required. And if anyone has any young kids looking to make a few cents this summer you can drop them off from 6am to 6pm, in a completely dry diaper.

you might want get up to speed on compensation for top execs at major corporations.

As COO of boeing he's been paid ~$31 million the last three years. and as of today he has about ~$46 million in stock. i would hope he's already a donor. if he's CEO for 10 years he'll probably make another $150 million and at least that much in stock as well, assuming boeing continues to do well.
