I like that. Just show him the Vegas odds for our team next year. If the schools he's looking at we are by far the best situated to make a deep tourney run

That's not happening.

thats it just a blanket statement? No follow up or anything? So is this just your opinion or do you know something? Sorry to call you out but there are so many post like this on this board.

The fact that you're questioning the idea of Burton sitting out shows how little you know about CBB. Why would he sit? That's just plain silly. He's talented and ISU needs him.

So he can star for 2 years rather than be a role player for 1/2 a year and a star for just one.

He would be a fool to sit to try to gain 1-2 more worthwhile games.

Your career clock goes only so long. I would hope he doesn't waste a year on a few non conf games

So you would rather have no depth next year just so he can play against Texas Southern Tech Baptist University of Mines a bunch of other schools along that caliber? Glad you're not coaching this ISU team.

I"m not questioning anything other than posters that make statements without more information. Thats it.

You're ignoring that Fred actually brought up the possibility of him sitting out the full year. While it may not be likely, he's just acknowledging the chance that it could happen. No need to be an ***.

Burton has 2 years of eligibility remaining. That can't be split up between different years, so the 2 scenarios are:

1) Play 2nd semester of 15-16 and full year of 16-17
OR
2) Sit out entire year 15-16 and then play 2 full years (16-17 and 17-18)

Since we seem to be going all in for 15-16, option 1 seems to be the way we are going. But, option 2 is not crazy so you should probably understand the situation a little better before rolling out insults. Redshirting would not be holding him out just to play against Texas Southern Tech. It'd be so he could do that as well as play against each big 12 team twice.

I've heard sitting out for a year really sucks. So, sitting out for 2 years? No way Burton would go for that. Whether it's the best scenario or not. He wants to play. As soon as possible.

I didn't say I rather he do that, I was just answering the question.

100 percent agree with your statement. Except if we sign two grad transfers and noskowiak, then depth won't be an issue.

Also, none of us know what is going to happen anyway right now. I'm more interested in finding out about this Harris kid and whether he ends up signing for Iowa state.

Interesting decision. If they can get both SR eligible players, do they take them? On one hand, you'd like to get someone sitting and ready to go for 16. On the other hand, added post depth could help the team make a bigger run in 15, which could lead to a higher level recruit this coming year. Play it safe or shoot for the moon?

I would bet a lot of money that we don't bring in two immediately eligible players. Adding Harris would be perfect since he's a good player, that will start or play significant minutes. With him in the mix, we would have a 9-man rotation when Burton is able to play, assuming both Naz and Cooke are 100% healthy.

I don't see Burton redshirting, and I don't see us going beyond a 9 man rotation.
