Loved my 2001 Lumina. We put 200K miles on it but parts were beginning to wear out and maintenance wasn't worth the price of the car. We replaced it with a 2011 Malibu, but never really liked it as much. There's an Impala that we are going to look at today also, but we'll see. My biggest problem is the underside f the dash on the driver's side. I have to rack the seat forward to reach the pedals, but that means my knees are higher than Lew's when I'm driving. Low-slung dashboards, I tend to crack my knees a lot, which makes me cranky.
I thought about getting another one, or an Impala, but I wanted something higher up and that I could fit in. My head touched the roof in the Malibu if I sat up straight. Love my Explorer, lots of room, and I can fit a lot more tailgating stuff in it.

Although I will say I do miss the front passenger seat folding forward. Pair that with the rear seats folding down, I could easily slide in multiple sheets of 2x8 plywood in it. Now my front passenger seat only folds forward a little bit, so I have to slide it forward as far as it will go to fit plywood in.

We're putting 3k into fixing the kids' 12 Jetta with 95K miles on it. 2 years ago, we wouldn't have done it but now the car is worth almost twice as much as it was 2 years ago.
Ten years ago we would have done that. But at our age, and with the inability to fix minor problems yourself on modern cars, we tend to opt for a newer more reliable vehicle when the current one begins breaking down. It's a lot tougher for Lew to turn wrenches on new models, and the way they are designed (including all the different computerized systems), he no longer has the skills. He used to do ALL of the work on our cars, so that's a tough pill for him to swallow.

Not exactly sure.
We weren't ready three years ago!
We've been ready for about a year, and have been hoping supply would improve and control price a little better.

This is the second time that supply chain has bit us severely in the wallet...this, and then the addition to our home. Which, by the way, STILL isn't finished, and probably won't be until sometime in April.
I need to update one pickup at least. I’m treading water until I figure out how this thing goes. I am used to driving things most people would abandon. I estimate 15 cents a mile. (Although now 20 cents might be right) per mile to pay for the repair. So $1000 means around 6-7k miles to pay for the repair.

Big East isn't a P5 conference.

It isn't in football because it isn't a football conference.

But it is a high-major in basketball as much as football P5.

There's a reason "P6" is the term with hoops.

The Big East routinely has better metrics than at least one or two of the other high-major conferences.

The trunk is more like room after the backseat. Z tries to leave the car via the hatch as often as she can.

This is LittleWx after he got moved to the third row of the van after LilLilMiss came.

Traded in the Sienna for a 2019 Odyssey last night. It was at 108k and starting to show more wear than we were going to want to fix. Plenty of life on it for someone that wants to spend it fix it themselves.

Speaking of cars, I’ve been really into watching car revival videos (mainly the Vice Grip Garage channel) the guy will get a vehicle that sat for years and drive it 600 miles home sometimes.

I had a buddy shortly after college for a few years who participated in rally races with cars like this. I think the cars had to be acquired for under like 300 dollars or something and then they repaired them and did rally courses with them.

They do rally races occasionally too. Been trying to convince a few friends to do this just once for ***** and giggles
