I had a buddy shortly after college for a few years who participated in rally races with cars like this. I think the cars had to be acquired for under like 300 dollars or something and then they repaired them and did rally courses with them.
I have a friend from college that does those types of rally races. The problem is he does these almost every weekend instead of spending time with his wife and two young children. Maybe his wife is fine with it but it makes me a little sad.

Yeah I always viewed it as a once or twice a year lark type of thing or something you do in your early 20s

@ImJustKCClone We bought a GMC Acadia last year. You would...not be comfortable in driving it. (Too big)

150k? Pfffffttt. Try 240k on the 2006 Taurus I drive to work. She isn't much longer for this world, and that kinda scares me.

In addition to what I mentioned, Lew apparently held back a lot of other stuff...all told, about $5K in repairs. We only paid $10K for it, so yeah - We got our money's worth, but don't want to sink any more into it. After this current round, it would be down to the nickel & dime constant fixes. We like to drive fair distances in it - don't want to get stuck in the middle of Wherethehellami Iowa. :D

Four again. Figured out when I’m on my phone instead of computer, I’m a different player. So I’ll probably never have much of a streak.

254,000 for drive only nearby vehicle. 220,000 for the daily driver. 95,000 on the heavy work only vehicle (trying to keep it last a long time)
