Dutch letters are a flaky pastry in the shape of letters found in central Ia. Boone bakery and Pella both sell them. I've never noticed if they sell them up by Orange City and that area. They are ok but personally they aren't my favorite baked good. It's kind of like most things in Pella kind of overrated. (Ducks for cover now.)

Haven't had a work spouse, but soon my spouse will be working from home. Where I am everyday at "work".

The biggest obstacle right now is our internet speed. We get crap speed through CenturyLink and our other choice would be Mediacom, which is notorious for outages. He has a mobile hotspot which he is planning on using for work, and calculated how much data he would burn through a month. Currently his work plan is 2MB a month and he would use at best guess 6MB a month. Ames really needs better internet options. We can't cut cable for this reason, either. I can't even stream a workout video if the kids are on the iPad at the same time.

Mediacom has gotten much better (I dislike them but will give props here). We may need to reset our server weekly, but that's just unplugging it, plugging it back in and waiting a couple minutes. Usually in morning so I do it and get my coffe going and then it's usually ready. We get one tear of data so we don't get into trouble. Will use up to 500 gigs at home. I want to change, but other options aren't close.

feeling super WI-hippie right now. Used up CSA broccoli by combining with CSA onions and sauteing with garlic, butter, and soy sauce. CSA lettuce and tomatoes on BLT, and WI-made blue cheese in salad with more lettuce and salad turnips. The broccoli onion combo is pretty delish. As is the blue cheese.

Oh, child....

Just for the record I know the reference and explained it all to MrsWx. Pretty sure she already knew and it was one of those "it is easier to just let him talk" situations.

I had a fun surprise today as my flight instructor from Wichita who is now a captain for SkyWest (on contract with Delta) is overnighting here in CR. Showed him around a little and enjoyed catching up. He taught me how to fly when he was 18. Now he is 23 and in charge of regional jets.

Okay...that makes me feel better! :D I mean, it's arguably the most famous plane crash ever in Iowa and you didn't know it?

Dang that sounds good CG. Hell I was pretty happy with the steak and salad I had for supper.

Thought it was going to rain but it never made more than a heavy sprinkle, so after supper got in a 20 with the hill included. I still suck at hills but they are slooowly getting easier.

It finally rained down here...thank goodness. I was starting to have hay fever issues but now the air will be cleaner for a while.

I have a coworker that is riding up to Clear Lake starting next Thursday. His team is picking him up there on Saturday and then starting RAGBRAI on Sunday.
