Re: Rashad Vaughn

Totally disagree with CW on unlv being a choice for RV. RV is a gamer, dude wants to win and on a big stage and on major tv and wants to play against the best competition. Unlv offers zero of that....zero. Unlv has nothing to off RV...nothing. Nba scouts are going to want to see how he performs against major college competition and he knows this. The only thing that worries me about him waiting until spring is that he may be wanting to see who is coming back for KU.

having an opinion is one thing. Being ignorant is another. CW is far from the only one saying UNLV is an option for RV

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Umm, who cares?

The Cavaliers have signed Anthony Bennett, the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft, to his guaranteed rookie contract.
Financial terms were not immediately known, but the deal can be worth up to $22.8 million over four years.

Ok, great, awesome. Would playing in a better conference not have better prepared him for the nba? That was what my post was about. Conversation leading up to my post had nothing to do with money.

i would make the arguement that playing in a better conference may have exposed him and he would not have ended up the number one pick in a very weak draft. i dont think vaughn is worried about getting exposed.

That would've been quite possible. Fair enough.

But you could also argue where you go to college, big school or small, has nothing to do with it really. It is all about your potential. Nerles Noel blew out his knee and he was still a lottery pick. Bennett was going to be a lottery pick regardless of where he went to college or how well he produced.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Vaughn transfered to Finley to face better competition in preperations for the next level and elevating his skillset. Why wouldn't he do the same by coming to ISU to play teams like OSU, KU, etc opposed to whatever unranked player he would face playing for whatever teams are in the mountain west. Just saying.

i understand that it has to do with potential, bennett was drafted on his potential in a weak draft, had he played against a higher quality of opponent he may not have been deemed to have the potential that he had coming out.

also bennett would have never been the number one pick if noel didnt blow out his knee. that happening likely cost noel 10 million in his rookie deal. and if we are going to call a lottery pick 1-14 (not 1-3, as noel was 6th) the pay difference can be as much as 3.6 million per year. or almost 18 million over a 5 year deal.

i believe that it doesnt matter where you come from; but i dont think that bennett was the best player in the draft last year. i think that had bennett played against better competition he would have been exposed and then we would not be talking about unlv having the number one pick last year nor their ability to showcase talent.

in the end vaughn will play against better competition in the big12 over the mwc, he will have more exposure in the big12 than in the mwc (see my post pointing the numbers out to the troll from unlv), and he will play in a faster offense allowing him to showcase his talents under fred.

i have been up since 330 this morning so im sorry if that seems like rambling, it took me way too long to type lol.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

These IdahoCyclone posts make no sense. A good PASSING point guard will make guys like Vaughn look even better. Morris is the kind of player that Vaughn gets so excited over because it gives him the opportunities to be set up for open looks, great passes to create opportunities, and about a hundred other things I could spout off if I had the time to. Morris makes the people around him better, and that will be a good thing for Vaughn. UNLV's point guard can't be that good if he can't create enough opportunities for his talented team (UNLV has a lot of talent on their squad based on stars and recruiting rankings) to beat UCSB. What a raging joke!
