And re-seating, while a hot button, should definitely be considered.
Folks have been in the same spots for FOREVER. A little shakeup could drive donations up significantly
In JTS for some people that cannot be done. If a fan gave to build the stadium they get their seat for life. Now many of those people are getting older and giving them up, those that want to keep their seats get to. They tried to move these people once and lost that battle.
I assume that number is getting smaller but do you know how many of those there were and/or are now? Are those tickets for the original buyers only or can they be passed to family members?
I'd be curious how many of those are left.In JTS for some people that cannot be done. If a fan gave to build the stadium they get their seat for life. they could make so much more $$$ with expanded concessionsI don't have a huge problem with this, you want success you gotta help pay for it. However, Jamie can't have it both ways. He can't expect the typical Cyclone fan attitude of the past (and what makes ISU great). I keep thinking back to the fan who yelled out at Prohm while he was taking questions on the court.
Everyone has their price point and budget. But if my donation is raised another 25% then I am going to expect the play on the field/court to match that with consistency.
Or at least improved wait times at the Jack Trice concession stands
The letter said that reindexing occured in 2008 and 2015. From 2009 to 2015 the football team went 32-65 (.330). 2016 to present the team has gone 24-22 (.522). I think you have already enjoyed an increase in quality of your product. Time to pay for that.I don't have a huge problem with this, you want success you gotta help pay for it. Will be interesting to see what info comes in Jan. For me to increase my giving by 25% there has to be more perks including re-seating for basketball. I have had season tickets for 25 years and while my women's tickets are not that bad there are better seats near me that get used less than 50% of the time that when I asked about them could not get an answer as to why they are not available.
Some donors have “reindexed” themselves. Those wanting RV passes learned that the $1000 donation may not get them into the lots. They will probably increase their donation and find other ways to increase their placing.
I’m sure there are G7 parking owners that will increase their donations because of closed lots due to weather.
Adding 25 percent may hurt
I don't get the outcry about a 25% increase. For a $1000 donation that's an extra $250 per year. That just doesn't seem like it should be much of a problem. Will be interesting to see what info comes in Jan. Looking at that chart that was posted, it seems as they are seeing a plateau and they're trying to keep that from happening in an extended period.
I was at the West Virginia game this year, and they acknowledged the donors on the jumbo tron that are at the highest level and it was $75,000 per year! There were a lot of people and companies listed. I was surprised. Our top level is $12,500 for comparison.
We need to find away to keep up. I wonder what other schools have as the top group.
