Looks like Abdelmassih is on his way out to the NY region today. Hopefully we'll hear who he is seeing in the coming days.

I really hope Tubby gets canned or goes to another school soon, it would be nice to start getting some big time prospects from Minnesota. Speaking of big time prospects from Minnesota, I saw Royce and Tyus Jones tweeting back and forth earlier tonight. Maybe Royce can give him a little nudge over in our direction?

Saw that as well. I hope he is in the ear of these Minnesota kids - some serious studs going to be in that 2014 class - Jones, Vaughn, Wallace, Travis, Theisen, etc...

Is the talent up there not as good for 2013? The only recruit I hear us recruiting in Minnesota is Washington.

From what I can tell, the 2014 class of MN preps has the possibility of being great - obviously headlined by a top-10 type in Jones, and a possible top 25-50-type like Vaughn. I actually keep forgetting that Washington is a MN kid, as he's been enrolled in a prep school in CT (Hotchkiss) for at least a year now. No other 2013 kids from MN are on the national radar... Unless I'm missing someone.

For whatever reason, there seems to be a disproportionate amount of talent in that particular class.

I was on Gopherhole earlier today and they were speculating that Joe Coleman might transfer if they take Lockett. I'd take Coleman in a heartbeat, he'd probably be a better fit for the future.

With Mbakwe on the roster for next year minnesota will have 4 seniors(one being mbakwe), 4 juniors, 4 sophomores, and 2 freshmen that will be on scholarship. So with Mbakwe they have 14 scholarships filled, without him 13 filled. If mbakwe comes back 2 players will have to transfer to make room for Lockett. If he leaves still one person will have to transfer. The chances of lockett playing at minnesota are slim i think.

Two new basketball offers that I've learned of this morning, although they've likely been offered a while ago:

2013 PF Denzell Taylor (St. Benedict's Prep, NJ)

2014 PG Kevin Zabo (Montrose Christian, MD)

I'll have pages on these two as well as Carlos Galan later today.

Here is your Carlos Galan profile: Recruit Lists » Galan, Carlos

Galan is a native from the Dominican Republic and turned 19 during the school year this year, which is why he will be attending a prep school next year in order to continue his education and be eligible to play high school basketball. He has been learning English over the past few years and I'm unsure how much he knows at this moment.

Chris Thomas of Chipola CC (formerly South Kent) has verbal led to Xavier per Evan Daniels (Scout). Not a surprise as I think most people thought Xavier had to be the leader for him.

Now, we'll see if he can finish his GED, and get to campus.
