I really like the looks of this Austin Grandstaff kid. Appears to have a smooth, high release on his shot, decent ballhandling, and some solid athleticism around the rim. I was also pleasantly surprised at his size as he looks pretty well put together for a 6'4" soon-to-be-junior in high school.

If a Duke doesn't offer I have a really good feeling about him. He's ideal for Freddy's system.

Fred must feel really good about those he has offered because this is a guy we would normally be going after with the family connection. I'll take it as a sign of encouragement that we don't even seem to be in much contact.
We are family. You go, Fred.

@JonRothstein: Abdul Malik-Abu is everywhere. Making 3's, hitting the offensive glass --- EVERYWHERE. An all-star "Glue Guy". Mr. intangibles.

I would love to see him as a Cyclone as much as I'd love to have Vaughn

So who are the most likely bigs we're targeting for 2014+? Would be really nice to get someone to pair Niang with so he doesn't have to guard the other team's center. What I've seen from Abu makes me think he's not likely. Is Diallo (sp?) for 2015 much of a chance?

Abu would be the prize. Some others we have offered include Reid Travis, Sean O'Mara, Alec Brennan and Quadri Moore. There may be more but those guys come to mind.

Not sure how much ISU is seriously targeting him but I just ran across this article on 2014 F/C Myles Turner. Fred has offered. Of course, so has most of the B12 and rumors that Kentucky, L'ville, and Duke have started sniffing around... (I think Nick Babb maybe his AAU teamate)

Also Jaylen Johnson, a 6'9" bouncy forward (according to ESPN). He plans to visit Iowa State, Florida State and Arizona State. These are the three programs that have been recruiting him the longest.
