Niang isn't a big though. At least not by my definitions he isn't. 6'7'' and plays like a wing.

Niang is 6'7" 245....that's a big. Yeah he can shoot but so could Jamie Vanderbeken and he was certainly a "big". Niang spends the majority of his time on offense and defense in the paint - ergo he is a big.

How awesome would this recruiting class be for 2014? Seems like a very plausible combination of players, all of which are ranked in Rivals's top 150 and 3 of which are in the top 101. It would also appease some of the folks on here who insist that Fred recruit more big men.

I wouldn't mind seeing Rashad Vaughn's name in there!

Vanderbeken was no "Big" by any stretch of the imagination. He was TALL yes, but not a big. The guy was a giant wuss that couldn't rebound or play defense and he was nearly 7 foot tall. All he could do is hit an open 3 pointer occasionally. That in by definition is not a big at all. A big plays hard, aggressive, and battles for rebounds....for that I will give you that Niang is a "big".

Lmao. Find a new team because Royce White, Georges Niang, and Melvin Ejim will be the types of "bigs" we target.

Sure they would be nice, as would Travis and Terell. I guess my biggest point is that even if we just get our backup targets, that's still a top 20 class that satisfies all of our needs and that is freaking awesome.

People have random, arbitrary criteria for what constitutes a big but the fact of the matter is that it changes based on each teams style of play. Under Hoiberg we'll have a ton of face-up matchup nightmares play our "big" spots. On his ISU teams, Vanderbeken was certainly a big. He guarded the other teams center more often that not.

Marcus Fizer and Melvin Ejim are not "bigs". Noted.
Ejim, no. Fizer was nearly 6'9'', so yes. Come on guys, throw me on the grill for stating a subjective opinion. Niang can be labelled a big. I don't care that much about it. Maybe I should have rephrased my claim and said that Hoiberg has only successfully recruited one CENTER, that being Percy Gibson.
