Recap from Swish 'N Dish a few ISU interest in attendence.

Lamonte Bearden - 2014 - PG - WI Swing
6-2 – Germantown HS - Germantown, WI

Bearden commanded the floor expertly much of the game against D-Rose. He finished with 11 points and 8 assists, but impressed all watching with how smooth and effective he was running determining tempo, creating plays and finishing with contact. Put some flare to the court at times which was exciting and mostly controlled.

Darrell Davis – 2014 – SG – REACH Legends
6-3 – Detroit Frederick Douglas HS – Detroit, MI

Davis had a big second half and finished with 16 points in a loss to Quad City Elite. The 6-3 guard was hitting from 3-point range in the second half and penetrating the lane well.

Cody Schwartz – 2015 – F – Wisconsin Blizzard
6-8 – West De Pere HS – De Pere, WI

Schwartz scored 18 points for the Blizzard in their win over Quad City Elite. The sophomore was active throughout the game on both ends of the floor. Schwartz runs very well in transition and is comfortable handling the ball
Cody Schwartz has offers from Creighton, Northern Iowa, and Wisconsin-Green Bay. Iowa, Iowa State, and Wisconsin are expressing interest.

NY2LASPORTS.COM - 2013 SWISH 'N DISH - DAY 2 RECAP - PART 2
Nick Noskowiak - 2015 - PG - WI Playground Warriors
6-2 - Sun Prairie H.S. - Sun Prairie, WI

Noskowiak started slow against the Celtics, but showed his resolve and his leadership presence, stepping up to hit four 3‘s and 17 points in the second half to help his team to the win - He was sensational and finished with 19 points total.

NY2LASPORTS.COM - 2013 SWISH 'N DISH - DAY 3 RECAP - PART 1
Darrell Davis – 2014 – SG – REACH Legends
6-3 - Frederick Douglas HS - Detroit, MI

Davis was solid and consistent all weekend. The junior guard was torching defenses from beyond the arc and added two more double digit scoring games to his resume.

Treante Mason – 2016 – SF – Playground Elite
6-2 – Vincent HS – Milwaukee, WI

The high-flying Mason had a couple dunks in transition for Playground Elite on his way to 14 points. The freshman picked his spots well and attacked at the right times.

NY2LASPORTS.COM - 2013 SWISH 'N DISH - DAY 3 RECAP - PART 2
Nick Noskowiak - 2015 - PG - WI Playground Warriors
6-2 - Sun Prairie H.S. - Sun Prairie, WI

The young point guard who always seemed calm and collected was just awesome Sunday. Noskowiak hit three’s, distributed the ball to teammates on point and drove to the basket with strong finishes all game. On top of that, his defense was stellar as well. Noskowiak finished the tournament with a 23 point effort.

Justin Tillman - 2014 - F - REACH Legends
6-7 - Detroit Pershing H.S. - Redford, MI

Tillman was a monster on the interior offensively and defensively for REACH. He finds gaps in the defense to post into to give his guards easy entries to him, uses his length on defense to block or affect shots and does a great job cleaning up on the glass. He finishes very well around the rim and wound up with 16 points against IL Old School.

I think we were lucky to get in on this kid early. The bigger names ie Marquette and Wisky are starting to take notice. This is kind of like the Matt Thomas recruitment.

Telep has Sean O'Mara as #8 on his "Top 10 Must See 2014 Recruits". It appears we were in early on another potential late riser. The summary is that he's a big guy with regional recognition, but not national yet. This spring/summer will be his chance to move up if he's going to.

It's on insider, so if your not registered you can't access it.

It still amazes me that Hoiberg and the coaching staff seem to find these "no-namers" and recruit them early on before they start to rise in the rankings. I'm almost to the point where I expect every ISU recruit to end up being highly coveted whether they start that way or not

Agree.
Not sure how many people saw it, but Florida/ Billy Donovan has started to show strong interest in Noskowiak...

Yeah I don't think Fred is going to have many "busts" the only reason his good recruits down the road don't live up to expectations is because we don't have a rotation that big.

Update on a couple of ISU 2014 big's interest.

TheRecruitScoop.com - Northeast Hoops Festival Recap

Almighty Abu

The options for Abdul-Malik Abu range from Big-12 to the Big Ten to the SEC and so on, and so forth. Simply put, his list has exceeded twenty schools and counting. However, that list could be chopped fairly soon.

"After the second live period, I may cut my list down," he told Rivals.com. "It continues to grow so my goal is to manage it somehow."

With a boatload of offers, Abu is staying in contact the most with Florida, Iowa State, Kansas State, UConn, Providence, Maryland, St. John's, Duke and Wisconsin. Unconcerned about choosing a program simply for its name, Abu is transforming into a very productive and versatile combo forward. With the ability to play in the post, and one he improves his handle, on the perimeter, the No. 50 player in the Rivals150 could skyrocket to the top tier of the rankings.

While the four-star prospect and teammate, Jared Terrell, are good friends, there is no definitive answer yet as to whether or not they will attempt a package deal. With various options for the rising seniors, UConn appears to be an interesting one, that has now turned complex because of the signing of NC State transfer Rodney Purvis.

If Abu and Terrell do attempt to explore the package option, it will be interesting to see what UConn's pitch is, among many others schools on the recruiting trail.

Larrier Looking to Land Major Offers

Most players on Team Scan have already established themselves heading into year one of the Nike EYBL. With numerous Rivals150 players, Terry Larrier is the odd one out, but that may not be for long.

The 2014 6-foot-8 small forward from Phelps School (PA) is in high demand by dozens of mid-major schools throughout the east coast, but interest is piling up from even bigger schools. His jumper is becoming much better, along with his defense and communication. Once Larrier gets stronger and tightens up his handle on the perimeter, things could get very scary, very soon.

Wake Forest, Iowa State, UConn and Texas have yet to offer, but are coming on strong. VCU, Oklahoma and Providence are recruiting him the hardest. He wants to visit the VCU campus, along with Miami and Georgetown. As playing time, family atmosphere and coaching style mean a lot to him, but he is still pleased with his 15 or so mid-major offers.

With a chance to make a name for himself in the next two weeks, and then elevate that name the rest of the summer, there is a high likeliness that Larrier takes full advantage of the situation.

I assume Matt is leading the recruitment of Quadri Moore, as well as assisting in Minnesota. It can't be understated that IF we get any of the MN kids - that he will have played a critical (early) role.

But yeah - since Royce White, it's been a tough go for Matt, and he still hasn't landed a difference-maker from NY/ northeast. In all fairness though - it'll be tougher to get a top 100 player from NY to Iowa than it will from MN, WI, or MI. He's got a tough job.

Darrell Davis game appears to be improving and recruitment is on the upswing...
Darrell Davis - Class of 2014 Guard
R.E.A.C.H. Legends guard Darrell Davis was the best player on the floor in his team’s 17U semifinal loss to the Michigan Warriors. Davis scored an easy 12 points, effortlessly gliding by on-ball defenders and getting to the basket. Davis could’ve taken his defender off the dribble one-on-one anytime he wanted to but he smartly stayed within the confines of his offense and made his teammates better. He’s a great passer who used his ability to put the ball on the floor and penetrate, to perfection, and often found open teammates for easy baskets.

Davis who said he prefers to play the point, spent most of the game off the ball, and moved well, getting himself in good position. He was patient when he needed to be, but also showed a lightning-quick first step and showed a devastating crossover that constantly kept defenders guessing. He is a stubborn defender, whose length tends to bother smaller guards.

Davis is hearing strong recent interest from Stanford, Maryland and Marquette; several of which may soon extend an offer. He’s also hearing from Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa State, UMass and a handful of mid-majors.
