@SOrangeJuice: Confirmed Seton Hall's offer of Ivan Uceda, won't be easy get - tons of high majors involved, but would fill huge & immediate need. #shbb

That tweet was from 7/23/13. Very recent.
Ivan Cruz is Ivan Uceda. Cruz is just his middle name.
I don't like our chances with Macura. His interest in immediate playing time as an impact player will be suited for other teams over ours. I'd be surprised if he does follow through on his official and visits Ames. As for this Haughton, I'd also be curious how you came across this guy. He would be a pretty good get adding rebounding and blocks. Hope he would have great court awareness to increase the transition opportunities as well. If we don't land JJ, I hope Fred would be looking at this guy! As our list keeps diminishing, maybe we'll see some JUCO's taking visits too. 3-4 left makes me nervous...Tyrone "Ty" Haughton is at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs. Here is his bio on goreivers.com:Iowa Western ReiversClass: SophomorePosition: PostHigh School: Dr. Krop High SchoolHeight: 6'9Hometown: Miami, Florida2012-2013: (Freshman Season) Haughton broke the program's single season record for blocks (112) and single game shot block record against Cloud County with 12 blocks (12/11/12). He played in all 35 games in 2012-2013 and started in the last 23 contests of the year. He averaged 4.5 ppg and was second on the team in rebounding (6.5rpg) including a team high 8 double digit rebound performances. Ty was one of only two freshmen in the ICCAC named to the All-Region XI first or second teams. He was invited and participated in Jerry Mullen's "Top 100" Juco Camp this July. HIGH SCHOOL: Tyrone Haughton or "Ty” as he is referred to, came to Iowa Western with an impressive resume. The 6’9 forward was a Rivals.com 4-Star recruit and received offers from UCONN, Alabama, Virginia Tech, and Marshall (according to ESPN.com) before eventually signing with South Carolina. Haughton played for legendary coach Marcos "Shakey” Rodriguez at Dr. Krop high school in Miami, FL. In his senior season for the Lightning, Ty averaged 14 ppg, 9 rpg, 4 apg, and 6 blocks per contest. That balance on the stat sheet earned Haughton a spot in the Florida vs USA All-Star Game this past April. The long and bouncy Haughton has the unique ability to change the game on either end of the floor.PERSONAL: Ty is the son of Ira and Violet Haughton.
A Jamie Vanderbeken is almost exactly what Fred would want in a big man. Can play some D, rebound, and cruise outside for the 3 ball. Since they aren't exactly a dime a dozen, I think you can remove the 3 threat from the wish list and grab someone who plays solid D and can board and make Fred a happy Coach. In this system, it's almost guaranteed we won't be looking for any big banger types in the middle.
Anybody got that Steve Carell no-no gif handy?

Rivals updated their 2014 rankings today. Custer moves up to #90, from #113 if I remember correctly.

Custer just getting back what was unjustly taken from him to begin with. Good to hear.
By "the race", I'm obviously referring to the Rashad Vaughn sweepstakes.Do you guys think the fact that the #5 SG is really high on Kentucky means that knocks them out of the race if he (Blackmon) commits to them? Kelly Oubre, another top notch SG is down to Kansas and Kentucky. Hopefully Kansas gets Oubre and Kentucky gets Blackmon. That would have to help us out a ton.
