You are probably right, but coaches can still talk to recruits. So obviously the staff (probably TJ) has been back in contact with NN. He's already been on a visit here so I don't think it would be crazy for something to happen before the Dead Period ends.
Probably depends more on if the staff feels comfortable with where he's at.

With Payne having to sit out a year, and Monte and Naz leaving within the next two seasons. I'd be totally fine with having both Evan and Nick on our roster, guard wise.

We have 3 open scholarships right now, I don't know that I'd want 2 of them to go to very similar players

From everything I've read, this kid needs some stability and a good role model. Is there a better place and person for those than Ames and Fred? Look at his Twitter account. He obviously likes our program.

Most recruiting services have him in the top ten range for PG's in this class. I think he's a fantastic fit.

Henry Ellenson's brother (a transfer from Minnesota) is at Marquette with 2 years yet to play.
Ellenson is more likely to jump to the NBA before transferring.

This is probably the end of Marquette kids for Iowa State. The kind of player Steve Wojo is recruiting is different from the players Buzz Williams was getting. The whole transition from Buzz to Wojo helped foster some transferring.

If it was problems with his dad, ISU is a lot further drive from SP than Milwaukee. I would wonder if that could have been part of it.
