I'm pretty confident in MJ Gaitan at 174 next season, 184 will likely be Julien Broderson (Tate Naak will wrestle his 5 free events, but I'd like to see him redshirt), then Yonger at 197 (Hagerty as a backup) and Schon at Hwt. I would agree that it would be nice to have some more depth at those weights with how we got hit with the injury bug this year.
I wonder if Yonger bumps to hvy next year. There was a lot of talk about him wanting to bump up for this season. Now, with the late season fade and injuries it really makes me wonder if the weight cut is grinding on him.

Either way, I agree that the 84-hvy is an area we should try to help out with transfers. I think 57 could be too.

Yeah I was strictly talking depth.

Gaitan should do well at 174 and I wonder if Julien would be better at 184. I know a guy like Rojas could probably wrestle some matches at 174 if need be.

I’m in the minority here but i actually think Kraisser could be a top 20 guy if he gets stronger this off-season.

I don't disagree. Yonger bulking up to heavy and not worrying about the cut could be the best thing for him. If he can be in the 240-250 range, he can be a very dangerous heavyweight. Would definitely need to hit the transfer portal for a 197 in this scenario.

For 157, I think Casey should redshirt this offseason, and bulk up to 157 for 2024. I think from a depth standpoint, we will be fine with Kraisser and Cam there. If Kraisser can get stronger, and develop a good leg attack this offseason, he could be pretty good next year

Helgeson has been good and Rojas can continue to develop. Is Fisher going to be around another year? Fernando helps with some room partners. Other than that, we are this from 165-197 in the room.

Ferrari...Red...Red color...School with Red color...Iowa State Singlets are Red. The Signs all point that way.
If 2021 was AJ’s first year, a free year, 2022 he got a medical RS, 2023 he used a regular RS (is he even in school??), is he really going to still have 3 years of eligibility? I’ve said I don’t think he wrestles again, but he has 2 if not 3 years left to compete. Technically he could still have 4 years left if he did indeed get a medical year and used a RS this year..

I have seen nothing to indicate that he is in school

Omaha Skutt Catholic has some young talent in their room now. Cade Ziola (sophomore) is a name you'll probably hear about the next couple years. Was the class B 170 champion.

So Kraisser has just one year left after this one I believe. Back to the NJCAA route. A guy I missed is Iowa Centrals 149. He went tech, pin, pin, pin, pin. Matt Sarbo - M2 kid who originally committed to Lock Haven. Not sure how many years he has left or what he would look like at 157 D1.

I'd guess he'd have 2 years of eligibility plus a redshirt. He could redshirt next year and then complete for the spot after Jason graduates.

Guessing our 141 this year will be a pretty good option as a redshirt sophomore at 157 after Kraisser graduates
