Oh...so you were present to see that reaction, huh?

My Lord.... :/

Usually when you decline to comment you're guilty of something. He was hoping it wouldn't get published and of course he's going to deny it after it is.

The reaction he is talking about might be that JP declined commenting on the story when Hines called him prior to publishing the story

Hines will be on KXNO again at 4:30 with CW. Hope they push him on what JP said. Interested to hear the response to the response.

Totally ridiculous comment

This may be the most underhanded, wreckless, and irresponsible article I have ever seen published without one credible source willing to add validity to any perceived statements.

How do you know the sources aren't credible? Or you just assume because you don't know their names? Hines doesn't just post articles like this without credible sources.

Crap, I leave for a few hours and all hell breaks loose. Sorry I don't have time to read the whole thread, but it sounds like Fred and Jaime responded to this already? That was fast.

I was around Wayne's new batch of assistants hired prior to his final season. Not impressed....that among other things

Who were the last batch of assistants? Quartlebaum and Archibald came earlier, correct?

Everyone who missed it really should listen to Hour 2 of Murph & Andy when the podcast gets posted; the Pollard and Holberg interviews are worth it.

But you are both willing to go all in and believe anonymous sources from a small-market newspaper journalist. Gotcha.

Re: Travis Hines: A look into the ISU BBall program and the Athletic Dept

I think you mean quash not squash. Actually he stated that ISU was his dream job and that his goal was to win championships at ISU. But looks like he learned he wasn't going to get the kind of support he needed for the basketball program to make that possible.

This doesn't make sense. ISU has a top-10 ranked team returning. Why would he leave now if his goal was to win a championship and didn't feel that was possible? If he thought it wasn't going to be possible, he'd leave the following year.

If his dream was the NBA from day one then why not take the Warriors Job? Why take a job with an aging roster and an oft injured former superstar?

He's buddies with the GM, used to play for the Bulls, and close enough to home to visit.

Re: Travis Hines: A look into the ISU BBall program and the Athletic Dept

Hines did do some fact checking... "Twelve family members of the men’s basketball staff were to be charged for traveling to San Antonio with the team while 12 members of multiple athletic administrators’ families were to be paid for by ISU, according to a document obtained through an open records requests."

Hard to argue with an actual document from the department itself...

I wonder why Fred & Jamie ignored repeated requests from Hines but then immediately went on the radio when the story came out. I'd have liked them to get their side in print in the same article.

How do you know the sources aren't credible? Or you just assume because you don't know their names? Hines doesn't just post articles like this without credible sources.

Your bias is clouding your judgement.

Well, least one of his sources wasn't quite credible, there were multiple claims that can be easily verified that either JP is lying about (foolish when even he admitted it was easily checked) or Hines was told incorrectly and wrote without verifying....

Because Fred and JP explained everything that happened and none of it had to do with penny-pinching.

The story was sensationalized beyond reason.

I'm guessing that RustShack was the almost double-digit sources behind this article. He just called Travis with a different accent each time.

JP explained this pretty clearly on Murph and Andy. It is true, but very misleading.
