Actually, TWO points. It still implies A&M will do all it can to prevent TX from the SEC. Interestingly, I remember specifically when the B12 was formed. Many SWC people despised TX mightier than thou attitude. Well SEC, hope you're a darned good baby sitter.

It will be interesting to see what happens once Texas gets in there. They may have talked nice on the phone, but there is no way Texas doesn't try to throw their weight around in the SEC as well. I've honestly put up with Texas because we had no other option. I didn't like their addition to the Big XII and always felt like they were a cancer. If there is one team suited for Independence besides ND, it's Texas.

I'd love to see them do what they essentially did to the Big 12 to the SEC. I personally believe they are a cancer in any conference. Imagine if they actually did get really good again.

I have no knowledge about anything, just like everyone else, but I do have a good feeling about us joining the B1G. I think Jamie and KU’s AD are having some serious talks.

The ISU thing would be to gain a big ten invite and have AM lead a charge that keeps UT and OU out of the SEC, so we have to pay to get out. It would still be worth it.

This is a done deal imo. Even if somehow the SEC didn't already have the votes, there is no way Texas comes back to the Big 12 with their tail between their legs. They will go independent before they stay in the Big 12 for any length of time.

Yeah, survival is paramount. But the real joy from joining the B1G would come from the collective head explosion of the UI fanbase. So, so great.
Regardless of what happens, its a long lasting moral victory for Iowa fans that you all have spent years bashing the B1G at every possible moment and it took all of 48 hours for you to be on your collective knees praying and begging for a spot at our table.

It's not like this meeting would be scheduled lightly. Seems like a decent chance that this move happens.
Oh yeah I meant “serious talks” as in I really believe this move happens. As things have kept moving along I’ve barely seen our name brought up in PAC-12 discussions. It’s all Big 10 right now. I honestly believe that’s where we end up.

If OK reverses direction and stays, and TX goes independent, TX will lose its pants $$$$$$ without any guaranteed income. Don't really see this as a viable option for them.

And with that, I'd invite them to welcome their new Cyclone overlords.

Absolutely fair. You dish me up that crow, and I’ll chow down on it with a smile.
