Report: Kansas, Iowa State Set Up Call With Big Ten
As the Big 12 implodes with Texas and Oklahoma’s departure, Kansas and Iowa State have set up call with the Big Ten for conference realignment plans.

Again the complaints about ESPN+ are not about the money. The complaints are about ease of access. ESPN took games that people were able to get on tv and moved them to streaming that people had to pay more for. Also as much as people don’t seem to want to admit it there are still a lot of people who don’t understand how to stream and even more who don’t have access to quality internet yet.Except money. We don't bring the dollars. Y'all think we're good at subscribing but the complaints about Cyclones.tv and ESPN+ when they are literally $5 is deafening

We will have more support than most schools. They all are going to have those complaints. If I can pay $20 for the ESPN channels that’s better than $100-$150 plus $5 for all of the channels. It’s the nickel and diming that people vent about.

Maybe 'gross' numbers, but you can not ignore the attendance figures while we were horrible. That's very suggestive of greater growth as we continue to improve. Plus, again, eyeballs!!! We are everywhere.
Are we though? Historically we aren’t a huge university/alumni base like some schools, but we are getting better.
I was pleasantly surprised when I was living on the East Coast for the last 5 years at how many Iowa State people I happened upon. Are we though? Historically we aren’t a huge university/alumni base like some schools, but we are getting better.
I'm not saying your wrong but the only evidence I've seen of this is CF members complaining. Is there any data to actually support this? Not that we won't bring money but that from a subscriptions standpoint that we were a lesser factor than other teams in our league?
Jesus, chill out. It was a tongue in cheek statement. Do we really have to jimlad everything...LOL
By what measurement? No one gives a rats ass that we travel well to bowl games/Kansas City. Our attendance figures are nice but are nothing special.

I'm not sure the numbers bear that out for a school started in 1864, has enrollment on par with most of the B1G schools, a graduate program with equitable numbers and a very upward trending athletics program. Are we though? Historically we aren’t a huge university/alumni base like some schools, but we are getting better.
How much did Cyclones.tv bring in at its peak? $2mil?
Somebody pissing everybody's Cheerios.Jesus, chill out. It was a tongue in cheek statement. Do we really have to jimlad everything...
No idea but it never had really quality content. It had one home football game and non conference basketball. I don’t have ESPN+ now but I would probably just do it year round if they had all the games through it.How much did Cyclones.tv bring in at its peak? $2mil?
I signed up for fubo during football and some of basketball season. No idea, like I said, i don't doubt we're on the lower end of this ,I've just never seen actual data. I've seen several times people referencing CF users complaining though every time it's brought up, we shouldn't be using CF for any of this. Besides, if you did, you'd find that the majority of us signed up for whatever streaming service we could to watch ISU.
But people are gonna pay $20 for ESPN and $5 for ESPN+ and another $15 for B1G network?
I have my doubts. But I'm probably in the depression stage of grief about this at the moment
Suppressed by who? Are there closet business owners in the Twin Cities that are going to donate to ISU athletics if they are all of a sudden in the Big 10? The big business base in the state(Des Moines and companies like Pioneer) already donate to ISU.I'm not sure the numbers bear that out for a school started in 1864, has enrollment on par with most of the B1G schools, a graduate program with equitable numbers and a very upward trending athletics program.
I will, however, agree that due to our low profile (due to poor athletics over the years) our donors are suppressed. But, IMO they will emerge as the prestige grows.
This. Thought the same thing. He doesn’t know. And when this kind of stuff goes down, Jamie has a plan usually and executes it quickly. I seriously doubt ISU is playing catch-up.
If there were ever a week to not crap talk iowa this would be it. We could potentially still have them on board despite what some people say.Yeah, survival is paramount. But the real joy from joining the B1G would come from the collective head explosion of the UI fanbase. So, so great.
