"67% of college football's powers"?

Seems like a weird thing to try and quantify. How do you define "power"? Is that like the Sex Panther cologne thing... 65% of the time it works every time?

I think Fran just unzipped ESPN's fly by saying this. That is exactly how ESPN looks at the SEC and the college football landscape. And now paying top players to go to those 67% is legal (see Nick Saban). Does Fran really think any of these teams are worried about ratings nationwide with SEC (legal) money and ESPN having their backs? I'm surprised he even thought this.

Probably like looking at history and current teams which programs have a realistic shot of winning it all, and it's basically like 1 Big 10 team, one Pac 12 team, one ACC team, and like 6 or 7 SEC teams.

My only comment on this is KU "has a head start" only as far as he knows. Its entirely possible Jamie has been laying a foundation with the B1G since the last go-round.
This. Thought the same thing. He doesn’t know. And when this kind of stuff goes down, Jamie has a plan usually and executes it quickly. I seriously doubt ISU is playing catch-up.

I'm not even joking when I say I may start crying tears of joy if ISU somehow ended up in the B1G. It would feel like a ******* miracle.

I'm not even joking when I say I may start crying tears of salty sadness if ISU ends up still in the big 12 sans OU and TU. It would feel like the literal ultimate kick in the nuts.

Perhaps discussed earlier, but are we sure OU/TX will be joining what we know as the SEC? What if some current SEC schools break off, grab OU/TX, and Michigan and [The] Ohio State and form some sort of conference on their own? We don't know if B10 schools are talking with these SEC schools.

Then we link our big 12 left behinds with BIG left behinds.

I'd even take a quasi-B12 including Tech, KSU etc. with some add ins (Houston) over being shipped off to the MAC or whatever.

If the idea that KU would bring us along is real, I would happily buy a Kansas basketball jersey just to help encourage them along.
Sure, I might throw up when it arrives, but they won't care about that.
Good idea. Then you’ve got some TP for the next pandemic.

Ive thought this too, whats stopping Clemson, Ohio St, Michigan, and some other big boys from jumping ship and creating an 'upper tier' league with parts of the SEC. Before you know it that league would be getting all the 4 and 5 star recruits, while the rest of the P5 leftovers fight for the rest.
