KU and KSU are not yolked together. This was brought up and cleared up last time. The state will not prevent a school from leaving to a different conference.Also. No matter what people will say, KU is still yoked with KSU. People think this gives KSU an advantage over ISU. But what it does is hinder KU.
KU’s main liability is their football. No one wants to watch it. They are completely dependent on their opponent for TV eyes while ISU can hold its own. How many casual college football fans are going to watch a KU/Rutgers game on a Saturday afternoon? Contrast that with an ISU/Rutgers game. ISU football is magnitudes more valuable than KU. ISU will give a net gain while KU would actually detract from whatever game they are playing.
