This article may be the biggest slap in the face I've read to date. Sooner spin suggesting everyone will land on their feet.

KU to the ACC and KSU to the Big10 pretty much says how much this person knows about the conferences.

While the PAC isn’t ideal, being in the “Big 8” pod of a 16 team pac 12 is something I can live with
If the BIG is out of play then I can more than live with it given the alternative.

IMO it's a good leak. It's a nothing statement but at least gives your fans the impression you're not leaving any stones unturned.
As much anxiety as I feel over this right now making fans feel better is not the priority. Trying to keep up the facade of the remainder of the conference being united is until all other options are vetted.

KSU to the big 10 is stupid, but KU in the ACC isn’t that far fetched when you consider the basketball
Honestly KU might be relieved they don’t have to field a viable football team if they go to the ACC like they would in any other conference.

KSU to the Big 10....bwahahahahahahaha

I think ISU's odds of getting into the Big 10 are low, KSU's are near zero. At least ISU fits academically so if they're looking around for a school to get to an even number of teams, the presidents won't face a mutiny by adding them.

Agreed. And at the same time do the Pac and Xii decide to merge just to get nearer to the B1G? A merged Pac/Xii is stronger than the ACC...right?
Thinking about this some more. If the P12 and BIG12 did merge and lock up the their TV rights the big10 is stuck because no teams are leaving the SEC or the ACC since their locked into TV rights into the next decade. The big 10 would try and keep ISU and KU from going to the Pac12 since there are no other big brand teams left for the big10 to pick from. Adding G5 teams are not the answer. Yes, I'm grabbing for straws here.

Now’s your time to cement your legacy Jamie. We’re counting on you to get us the best situation possible.

He chose the Iowa State Cyclones and signed a contract stating his terms of pay. If we lose the Big 12 and end up in a G5 conference, we cannot afford that contract anymore and he will leave... He already left a G5 team to go to a P5 team, and I think he'll do the same thing again.
Moving the goalposts...

Think it is big 10 or bust at this point pac 12 would not be the worst consolation prize because it beats the alternative of going to a group of five conference but it just is not going to feel the same as going to the big 10 would. Iowa state should get on that call with Kansas and pitch with them because it is a way we could have an in to the big 10

It's actually what I voted for as "most likely" in the poll thread. "Best" would be the B1G, but for some reason everyone thinks that's almost an impossibility.

IS it as unlikely as people say? I mean, they let nebraska, rutgers, and maryland in -- I think in the new streaming landscape, ISU might actually be a legit good add, not to mention an annual rivalry game with Iowa and good geographical/academic fit.

It’s the best case scenario for ISU, and I would be thrilled. Just more of a “believe it when I see it” to temper expectations

I, too, think we may bring a lot more to the table on the streaming side of things than many of the other schools not named ND would.

I think KU would rather be in the Big 10 so they can pay for their stadium improvements. Having as bad of a football program as they do is detrimental to the athletic department as a whole.

We can not be left in the lurch here. I love Jaimie Pollard and everything hes done but if we dont end up in a P4 conference after this is over, his reputation will take a massive hit. As other have eluded, a Big 12 without Texas and OU will be relegated to the G5, with only a fraction of the money coming in. Big 10 or bust, we cannot sit around hoping it all works out. Specially if KU is reaching out to the Big 10 already.

His reputation may take a hit with ISU fans, but since we probably won't have the money to pay him, I'm sure he'll be a hot commodity for another team in a P4 conference. He's done a lot here and that is what gets noticed. The fact that he can't move ISU to another state attractive to the Big 10 or SEC has nothing to do with his legacy.
