Nor am I, just being realistic. The TJ fanboys have driven me to this place. TJ isn't being mentioned for any other jobs, let alone Minnesota, which is the tell. We aren't grabbing some hot commodity like Campbell was. Was TJ even a candidate for Washington when that job opened up? If not, why not?

Are there TJ fanboys here, though? It seems like most people are merely saying they will support him if he's the new coach.

A lot of this thread feels like hyperbole.

In 1937 we went 3 and 15 overall. That is a win percentage of 16.6%. Prohm went 2 and 22 for a win percentage of 8.3%, so Prohm is half as good as that season you just listed. He did match that seasons 0% conference win percentage, so i guess he can hang is hat on a tie for worse win percentage in conference for school history, but he did mange to both win less games and lose more games than the season you brought up.

I will save you being wrong again and give you the stats of the ken trickeys last season. He went 3 and 24 overall and 3 and 11 in conference play. So conference percentage blows prohm out of the water, and overall percentage is 11.1% which is still better than prohm. He did have more losses though.

The fact that we can easily come up with bad years should tell us all we need to know.

I’m not going to **** on TJ being the coach, I actually like the hire. But I can absolutely **** on the process.

And if this doesn’t work out, it’s 100% on Pollard. If it does, he should get the credit like he did with Hoiberg and Campbell.

That's my thought. Gonna look a whole lot like the McDermott years is my guess. He got talent too, couple NBA picks on the same team. How did they do again?

2 things that did McDermott in at ISU. 1. He couldn’t find decent role players, the guys around Craig Brackins were garbage. 2. He couldn’t keep guys in the program

I'm starting to come around on TJ if he is the guy. His roster this year included 9 new guys. He didn't inherit a ton of talent at UNLV. Based on one season, yeah this hire looks iffy. But there is a lot more to it than just one season. His last 2 SDSU teams and first UNLV team won 39 conference games, lost 9. That tells me his teams actually improved and maxed out throughout the season. The process may be questionable, but there are no guarantees with any other coach, especially with the gigantic hole we are in right now.

While Mizzou was interviewing him, I also think CBS Sports rated CMC as the worst coaching hire that year so CMC wasn't some "home run" hire on the front end like folks thought Chiz was.

I think you’re wrong. They ranked CMC the worst hire the year he got the Toledo job.

I’m to a point on this thread just to look for the random JLH pics
I really do not understand the hate for him on here. His teams are fundamentally sound, he is really well liked by HS coaches around the state, he has some tourney experience, he is competitive most years in the conference.... He isn't a home run hire, but he is not some awful coach like some on here think.

It doesn't matter because he isn't going to be the new coach anyway.

Right or wrong, when Jacobsen passed up opportunities to "move up" the coaching chain, it was taken as him signaling he was not interested in a larger challenge. If a guy does that he needs to dominate at his level, and Jacobsen doesn't.

Mike Taylor, Wes Johnson, Diante, Hambone were probably the best of his signees although that verifies your second point (other than DG).
I thought we could get more out of Chris Colin and Dendy but they flamed.
Peterson really wasn't a B12 PG body

I recall CMC being rated the worst hire when Toledo hired him... did he rate the worst when we did as well? That's always so funny to look back at those :) Hopefully Otz is the same!

But what about strength of schedule? The Big 12 did send 7 teams to the dance this year. How many did the Big 8 send Ken Tickeys last year. I bet not 70% of the teams.;)

We need a bigger computer!
