The Espn legal analyst just made a good point. If it's discovered that the league had the tape back in April, then Rice's suspension probably can't be extended past the original 2 games, since there wouldn't have been any of the "new" evidence that the league used to justify additional punishment. Now, a team would still have to sign him, and that isn't too likely, but the CBA has a double jeopardy clause, and anything beyond 2 games almost certainly wouldn't stand up to appeal.
He won't go anywhere. Goodell has made the owners a ton of money, and that is what the league is about. They'll issue an apology.
The length of his suspension is a minor detail at this point. Michael Vick aside, nobody is going to want to touch Rice anyway.

We respect Roger Goodell sticking his head in the sand. It's a strategy that's worked for us for decades.

We know we didn't see any secret videotape as we have a long, proud history of not reviewing anything controversial.

Honestly, if we had reviewed the Ray Rice tape, we would have somehow ended up punishing Iowa State.

No way a majority of the owners vote to get rid of him. I don't see any way he is gone unless he leaves on his , and I don't see that happening.

This would be good news for Rice - except Goodell is judge, jury, and executioner - and all appeals go through him. Has Goodell overturned one of his own rulings on appeal yet?

actually, it would go through an arbitrator. The NFLPA would probably insist on it.
Think he makes about $25M a year. Yes, a big screwup.
I heard on ESPN yesterday that either in 2012 or 2013, Goodell made upwards of 44 million. That's insane but when you're the commissioner of a league that makes multi billions and isn't slow down, you make that kind of bank
I'm guessing if this is the end for Goodell...he's going to get a hell of a severance package
