I kind of agree about Downs, I realize if you look at his stats since he's been with KC hes been decent but those stats dont tell the whole picture, he's usually in a jam that he's created but gotten lucky not getting tagged with a lot of runs so far. Im hoping the Willingham deal works out, they've been playing pretty well rotating guys in the DH spot of late, I say that knowing KC needed another power bat though, so we'll see how it plays out.

The acquisition of Willingham is a pretty shrewd move by Dayton, especially for a GM who's never really demonstrated an understanding of the importance of OBP. People will look at Willingham's batting average and shrug their shoulders, but when you consider that his .345 OBP in Minny would rank him #2 on the team (behind only Gordon) it's hard not to like his inclusion on what has been a largely offensively challenged team.

3 out of 4 while facing Samardija, Gray, Lester, and Kazmir isn't bad!

Im kind of wondering if Hosmer will take on a bit role for the rest of the season when he's back. He's certainly not been a better hitter than Butler or Willingham have been of late and Hosmer cant hit for power, sounds like a great late inning defensive player at best right now for the Royals.

Makes sense to me. Willingham is hitting RHP better than LHP so he's not really a platoon candidate. And with Aoki hitting, it doesn't make much sense to bench him in favor of Willingham.

Totally agree, common sense says that it should go down that way. Yost seems to buck common sense, I'd almost wager that he'll put Hosmer in the three hole right off the bat and never sit him though, sad but true right lol.

Last night was an example of why the Brewers fired Ned Yost in the middle of race in September. KC should be proactive and replace Ned now, but they won't.

I like the whole lets never pitch our bullpen guys so we keep them fresh comments from him, except pitching once a week or less for guys like Chen means they are likely to struggle. We also keep trotting out two of our worst obp guys in our 2-3 holes ect. Its frustrating, but with how good of a pitching staff and defense we have they still have found a way to overcome Ned.

No, stating the Royals should fire Yost after an 18-5, and 11-2 stretch is ridiculous.

We cannot look behind us. He is allowed an extra guy in the pen that he never uses. 86-7 wins isn't going to do it, and I'd rather not see Ned ruin Ventura's arm either

Yeah, we shouldn't evaluate the team's recent success or the season overall. We should fire the manager of the hottest team in baseball.

I have issues with Ned's roster construction and lineup sometimes as well. But you are being ridiculous if you think he deserves to be fired. Can't ignore all the positives and only focus on the negatives, and you sure as hell can't ignore the results.

Looks like the Royals are going to take 3 out 4 up in Minnesota. They are up 5-1 in the bottom of the 9th. Fun team to watch.
