I guess someone agrees with me. They might know a little more on the subject than some keyboard warrior living in his parents basement.
Those two might not be the ones you want to find yourself in alignment with when it comes to the rights of student athletes. Those two are both 100% concerned with themselves.

I'm think the more "fair" things are directly impacts Dabo and lanes ability to have advantages in recruiting.

They just strike me as coaches who like to stand way above the athletes they are coaching. NIL levels that out a bit and they don't seem to care for that much.

Many business owners don’t understand tax fundamentals, much to their detriment
To be fair, when they see the total on the itemized deduction sheet go up one dollar for every dollar in charitable contributions it can seem that the taxes are going down by that much. Gotta dig a little deeper though.

100% this.
When dabo/saban were dominating with their entire roster full of 5 stars they loved the system. Now that they are losing recruits to other school and having a bunch of guys transfer they suddenly hate the system in place. Totally self serving.
Nah, this is Dabo and Lane explaining to their BMDs that they have to change their process ASAP. When Lane is explaining (correctly) that NIL+Portal = constant free agency w/o contracts, he's just giving one example of why the Ole Miss big cigars have to forget about bag men and switch to legitimate NIL contracts, preferably ones that lock guys in or incentivize sticking around.

I mean, you're right...but the soap box is a warning to boosters disguised as lamentation on the state of CFB.

Will this become the norm for women's NIL deals? If you're a knockout and can play pretty well too, open up the checkbook? Just asking.........

This is a classic case where I think the athlete should be free to go wherever they choose and is a reason I support the NIL in concept.

If they can get deals from Boost Mobile and PSD underwear, why does that need to be tied to going to Miami? Those business entities appear to value the athletes.

That is different than pay for play (which as I have stated in other posts should come from the university and not from the fans who are already paying for tickets, seat licenses, and other athletic funds.

They got the deals before they transferred. Try again.

If a kid is making $1-2 million a year, are they really going to go to class?
If the NCAA really wants to address NIL, they need to really crack down on athletes completing the necessary school work.
And I almost died laughing typing this out........

@3TrueFans do your “thing” with this post

Well, this really was supposed to be the intent for NIL - people that actually have NIL value being able to capitalize on it without the NCAA getting in the way. For women's sports that's what it will be.

For the men it's pretty much a booster giving a kid that has a few thousands of dollars worth of ad value to local businesses hundreds of thousands to play because he can rush the QB.

Many sad things about NIL and the portal. To me, and yes I'm a Boomer, I'm sad because it's just another example that loyalty has gone by the wayside. Employees are not loyal to their employer the way it used to be, and vice versa. Athletes, college or Pro, have no loyalty to their teams, at least not like before. And in return the schools or the owners have little to no loyalty either. It used to be once Fran Tarkenton became your QB, he was yours for all or at least most of his career. Just can't count on that anymore. :(

ISU loses its best BB player, UNI loses its best. That's just how it is going to be now. One fanbase's loss is another's gain.

Why didn't the Vikings show loyalty to Fran instead of trading him to the Giants? Seems to me that loyalty ought to be a two way street

I wonder when we will start seeing additional company logos on coaches and officials apparel? Wouldn't it be their right as well.

Coaches can already sign NIL deals and have been able to for a long, long time.

You must have a reading comprehension problem. I assume you are young.
No comprehension issue. You're just making a buffoonish point. Coaches can and have been singing NIL deals for a long time and the scenario you're worried about hasn't been an issue. So, we can move on to the next slippery slope. This one's run out of runway.
