Really surprised by all of the vitriol directed toward the Iowa Nice Guy brand on here. Looks like Fran Fraschilla is the only bulletproof media personality on this board.

Big fan of Rob Gray and Jared the Intern. Are they media personalities?

The problem for me with the SEC national championship arguments is that they get a team in the championship every year where many teams get over looked at their chance to win it. Their percentage of winning a national championship is already much higher. Take the B12 last year who didn't have a team in it to make an argument about conference strength.
It's a horrible arguing point imo.

well this year for instance here are the power 5 school matchups involving the SEC:

7-1 Alabama beat 7-2 Wisconsin

4-4 Arkansas lost to 5-4 Texas Tech

4-4 Auburn beat 4-4 Louisville

Florida vs FSU TBD

Georgia vs Gtech TBD

Kentucky vs Louisville TBD

8-0 LSU beat 3-5 Syracuse

3-5 USC beat 7-1 UNC, also has Clemson coming up

4-4 tenn lost to 7-1 OU

6-2 A&M beat 4-4 ASU

so if you're scoring at home, the SEC is 5-2 with four games remaining.

Also note that among 56 OOC games, the SEC played 11 power five teams almost all either at home or a "neutral" site.

And the sec is 0-2 vs the big twelve with one game against comparable records. Tech and Arkansas..

Love how the head to head gets ignored.

The SEC has more voters in the playoff committee, of course there is an SEC/Brand Name bias... They are human.

You don't cheer for your schools arch rival. Ever. It's an unforgivable sin. Do you think there is an Alabama nice guy that makes videos for Auburn and Bama? Michigan nice guy? Etc.

Did ISU graduate Iowa Nice Guy make this after attending the Iowa/Maryland game instead of attending his alma mater's homecoming shut out victory over Texas? Or maybe he was just too tired from sharing Hawkeye handy duty with Drake graduate Zack Johnson after the game to bother attending...

Iowa Nice Guy (just like every other Iowa sports media personality) is going all in for Iowa football this fall because they expect to be all in on Cyclone basketball in the spring and they think this will help show them as more balanced. No one should be surprised that the ING, who is trying to make a name for himself, is paying more attention to the Hawks right now. His video about them has 400k views in two days.

Someone can pull this off, but ING is not nearly cool enough to make it work like he thinks he is.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found my long lost brother.

You like me believe in the "Concept of Rivalry Theory", I spent a lot of time in college spreading this to people who thought they should cheer for both rival schools.

Bama and Auburn
OSU and Michigan
Oregon and Oregon St. - the civil war
USC and UCLA
Arizona and ASU
Texas and TAM
Miami and FSU
FSU and Florida
Georgia and Florida
S. Carolina and Clemson
Harvard and Yale
Colorado and Nebraska - discontinued
Nebraska and Oklahome - discontinued
Kansas and Misouri - discontinued

I could list more, but these fans don't cheer for each other and they shouldn't because they are rivals. I a lot of these cases they HATE the other school and imo that is how it should be.

Not to change the subject but I listened to an interesting discussion last week while at Scheels in Coralville. Two workers there were in a heated discussion over who the Hawks would play in the BCS championship game. The only thing they agreed on was that Iowa would be there. Neither one of them thought the SEC would even be in the final 4. This was during Iowa's bye week so I guess their minds had more time to work....

I think we just became best friends. Pretty sure this is a law. Or at least it should be. The deep-seated, irrational hate is what makes the rivalry fun!

I thought it was pretty funny. The kids were great. I can't wait to hear the SEC fan reactions on M&A today.

I live in CoMO and having watched Missouri play vs most of the SEC I am of the opinion the SEC is greatly overrated. There is no question they have the pollsters on their side but the results on the field simply aren't impressive. Missouri won the SEC East in consecutive years with a starting 22 comprised of Texas and Midwest players left over from the Big XII recruiting classes.

The bowl games last season exposed the SEC and the expanded playoffs will not accrue to the benefit of the SEC.

The SEC won 7 bowl games in 2014 and 2013 and has won at least 6 every year since 2006...
Don't bother using the facts and the dominance in all but the recent championship games. Idiots will choose to believe what they want to. The SEC is not the second coming but they are consistently the best football conference. There is no argument to be made otherwise. One bowl season doesn't change that.

Love how the head to head gets ignored.
Its two football games. That's it. Arkansas is bad and Tennesee gave their games against OU away. It was no spanking. The inferiority complex of the non-SEC fan is ridiculous.

Love reading how head to head games are no big deal. This complex is called the loser complex.

Inferiority?... actually it's a superiority complex.

OU beat tennesse at tennessee.
Tech beat Arkansas at arkansas.

Can you please cite ahead of time the other head to head wins that won't matter so I can disregard them?

Get freaking real.

ps I still find it funny how much "better" Missouri and Texas a&m got once they joined the sec. In one year they somehow became sec quality.

I find it funny that the whole nation is wrong, but you are right. There is only one person that needs a reality check here. Remember how bad TCU was and now they are running over the conference after the first few years?

I personally disagree with him. The SEC had 7 NC's in a row (Florida, LSU, Bamax3 and Auburn from 2006 to 2012). I personally don't feel it is a bias or myth when the facts are there to prove it is the best conference.

Maybe next year he can MC the Iowa version of Hilton Madness since he likes Iowa so much.

Yes, because there wasn't any bias in the BCS - which is one of the reasons why we still have it. Oh....
