Also, can we move the entire religious discussion to the cave and/or just hand out 72 hour bans to everyone discussing it (oh please please, I vote for option B!)

I agree. I've heard a lot more about faith and our coaches in this thread than I ever have from administration.

In the past example, I heard nothing about faith from Chizik except for the chaplain/bagman and then suddenly later when his book came out.

I speculated this yesterday, but after the report that Campbell was a strong candidate at Mizzou and that he would accept if offered the job, I wonder if that pushed Pollard to fly to Detroit yesterday and meet with Campbell to try to get a handshake deal on this and beat Missouri to the punch.

Good god, nobody is 'complaining about hiring someone of faith'. But good on you for the classic christian persecution act. People are just saying it shouldnt be as big of a factor as it seems Pollard might make it.

Iowa went that "family values" route after the Angie Lee debacle in late 90's .. LOL Steve Alford and Lisa Bluder.

One worked out, the other.... meh

Also, who built Toledo into being a solid program? It certainly wasn't Campbell.

1. If he had been coaching at Toledo for a year or two that's a reasonable argument. But maintaining a program for 4 years is pretty good too.

2. Campbell was with Beckman (the previous coach) his entire tenure as OL/OC, so he had some hand in building Toledo into a solid program.

No one was mocking anybody for their faith. The discussion was whether it was appropriate for that to be a requirement for the job.

If D UP doesn't like Campbell, then I know he's a home run hire.

Cycloneerikhawk.....you mad bro? Lol

I'm hearing that the reason he might not go to Missouri was because he wasn't religious enough...or maybe it was because he didn't worship Satan.

One more comment about religion in this thread, or others on coaching, equals an automatic 14 day ban, end of story. No exceptions, even for "jokes".

After watching a Rhoads' coached ISU team for the last time today, I'm just happy we're doing something.... anything.... at this point. It can't hardly get worse. Our guys wouldn't even give much of an effort for Rhoads on his last day. That's when you know it's time for a change.

1) Retro-fit a PLAYER'S Lounge in the football facility. Recruits EXPECT one.

2) Rhoads hard-hat mantra DID NOT WORK. In fact, he looked dorky at the end of the game wearing that thing

3) The culture has to be totally REVAMPED. The jucos this year at least had some swagger and were trying to transform it

4) We let a strength coach with a foot out the door--as well as a head coach on a warm seat design much of our weight room facility. fricking dumb. They're both gone and we're stuck with tens of th$usands of dollars worth of treadmills----they didn't help one bit
