I thought the acting and 80s setting was very good but the show just didn't do it for me. Slow and boring - I didn't get all of the suspense that people were talking about. I did really enjoy the dynamic between the 3 kids (and Will) and Eleven. Decent show but I don't get any greatness from it and certainly wouldn't give it 9.1 that is has on IMDB.

And I wouldn't say the show is scary or creepy necessarily outside of a handful of scenes.

I think LOST is overrated. To each their own. ;)

If Angie thinks it is too scary, you might be better off without her.

I kid, Angie is the ****, but apparently a big baby

Turd. ;)

It's weird, because I have seen every single Friday the 13th movie made prior to the Jason X one, every Nightmare on Elm Street, every Halloween prior to about 2001 (even that bizarre third one).

But when American Horror Story first came out, we watched the first episode, and that **** creeped me the hell out. And I love, love, love most of Twin Peaks, but would totally check our shower for Bob before going to sleep. I can't watch disturbing stuff right before bed - and after the kids are asleep is my only option these days.

American Horror Story is way, way darker than this. This is like an homage to the 80's "horror" story. A little campy and tense, but that's about it.

I am through episode 6. I have made the decision to only watch it during the day, because when I was watching before bed, I was having nightmares of things eating my face, and would wake up and run top-speed to the toilet if I had to pee because I was afraid of something eating me.

Really enjoyed the show. Think I was a little let down by it based just on how amazing everyone said it was, but on its own with no expectations, I'd say it was really good and await what they're going to do with season 2.

Also, nothing about the show is scary. Creepy, yes. Scary, no.

Turd. :D

I have a low tolerance for surprises and those "jump scare" types of things, which is what I see in ST more than anything. A couple of my best guy friends in high school apparently used to talk about how they wanted to have one of them hide under my car after school some day and grab my ankle when I got in, while the other videotaped it - I just startle VERY easily. And then I get myself wrapped up in that startle response!

Do not watch America Horror Story.

Yeah, I 100% agree with that. I'd read about it when it first came out, towards the end of the season. I told my hubby I wanted to start watching it - we couldn't find it on Hulu or anything, just buy it via his XBox. I wanted to buy the whole season, but he said we should do just one episode first.

I barely made it to the end of that ****, and vowed to never watch it again.

Do not watch America Horror Story.

I'm planning on rewatching them all here soon, love it. First season was probably my favorite, I have missed a couple seasons though. The witch one and was the hotel one the last one?

My wife and kids really got into it. I hate to be a downer but I just thought it was okay, at best. Thought the story was kind of silly and acting was just so-so. I was kind of surprised to see all the great reviews.

I agree it was overrated, but it did bring me back to when I was a kid watching ET, goonies, etc.

Yeah the hotel was last season, it was just ok IMO. I like the season where they had the carnival.

Wait, wait, wait. You're telling me a show that is based around 4 kids, one of which has special mind powers, who are trying to save their friend that was taken by a demogorgon to an upside down reality is too "fake"? Uhhhhh.... ya think?

I didn't know what it was going to about until we started watching it and by that time I thought I would just finish it out.

I thought the plot could have been way better if it was more realistic.....4 kids stumble upon/start to figure out that missing children/murdered children from their state are being kidnapped by the government for some sort of testing at a remote government prison or testing site. Something along those lines.
