This. I get disliking Rodgers for being kind of a smarmy d**che but I don't get pointing the finger at him in this case. A rather large dude stepped on his ankle with cleats on and put his weight on it, I would tried to shove him off me too and say WTF are you doing
Nope. This happens regardless of who got stepped on because it is Suh and because the QB on the ground reacted to getting stepped on. Nothing more. It likely doesn't not help that said QB has an existing leg injury. It is the same view from the league whether that QB is Aaron Rodgers or Ryan Lindley.

This is what got me. He totally acted like nothing happened, even after he got shoved too. What a complete moron. If you want to get away with stepping on someone, sell it you dumb fool! Make it look like "oops, oh nooooo! are you ok?".
Again, this. All he needed to do was show some recognition that he stepped on Rodgers and didn't mean it. Now, no one would have believed him that it was accidental - but no way could the NFL suspend a man that made it clearly look like an accident.
This clearly looked intentional. I think first step was an oops, but once he knew he was stepping on Rodgers, he took another step and pulled his other foot off the ground.
Correct. I lol'd at the milking it post about him being carted off and reacting to getting stepped on. He went down pretty hard folks, on the play he left the game in. You have a franchise QB who is clearly one of the best in the game today - you take some damn precautions.
Now, he's no Romo - who breaks bones in his back, walks off and then comes back into the game. But not everyone is Romo.
This has everything to do with Aaron Rodgers and little to do with Suh. This type of thing happens on every play! The difference is, you can't do it to Rodgers or another star QB. Not going to comment whether the league protecting QBs is right or wrong, that's just the way it is.
you know, it's kind of a personal preference of mine. That whole bit of being carried off, then carted off and then the tunnel stretching...and then the return as if nothing really happened...too much for me. Just don't respect it. Seen too many other guys with more serious injuries react differently. Maybe it was legit. IDK.
But, maybe I'm being to harsh on Rodgers...after all, it was the media who was focusing on him the ENTIRE game.
If I didn't know better, I'd think Aikman and Buck were taking him out to dinner afterwards.

he went down on his own before he was carried off...that wasn't going down hard in the slightest. I agree with taking precautions...and I'm sure it wasn't comfortable being stepped on...but Romo would have chuckled at it and kept going. To me, that's part of what I don't like. Rodgers is a bit of a whiner.
Romo wouldn't have had to do anything because one of his offensive linemen would have come back and laid Suh out, penalty or not.
Some of you guys need to put aside your Rogers hate and look at this objectively. Suh has a history of this sort of thing and has been fined and suspended on more than one occasion for it. He is being watched carefully and has no benefit of doubt anymore. It doesn't matter what QB he tries to take out, the league is going to come down swiftly on him.

Did you watch the game? He didn't get touched. If it was anything close to serious there's no way they would've risked him further injuring it but as a previous poster said he was walking fine on the sidelines before they carted him off. And then to add to that the whole not coming out with his team at halftime ********
Suh's hits on QB's have been much worse over the years, and he has been penalized by small fines. Stepping on Rodgers was perhaps the softest of his dirty plays, and he gets suspended for a playoff game. You will have a hard time convincing me that the QB he stepped on didn't have something to do with the stiff penalty.
Once again, this is coming from someone who will be cheering for Romo and the Cowboys, so I'm very happy Suh isn't playing against them.

Sounds like the NFL has a boner for Suh that he hasn't already been suspended about 4 times.
He was clearly favoring that leg for the rest of the game. As a Bears fan, I feel dirty for sticking up for Rodgers here...
I guess I wont argue your point, but you do reach a point where a fine does not get your message across.

that looks like a progression, to me. Increasing penalties for incidents. That's called "Losing the benefit of the doubt in 6 easy steps."
Throw in his stomp on Evan Dietrich-Smith, and ensuing suspension, and you've painted a picture of an habitual violator. He owes everything to his sterling reputation.
Some of the previous violations were at least during a play. This last one he knew he was stepping on Rodgers and did it anyways. The league is getting tougher on everything this year and an obvious intent to injure is going to get a reaction.
Nope. If some other DL that has no previous egregious unsportsmanlike conduct fines or suspensions steps on any of the top 5 qbs, they would get a fine. Suh has shown that fines will not change his behavior, and is now showing that suspensions will not either.
Wasn't there also a time a few years ago when he ground a qb's face into the turf? Or am I thinking of a different lions player?
If we are going to title the list as his penalties over the years, let's include all of them in the list. I could be wrong, but it appears you missed a few including a two game suspension and a $100,000 fine so they have not all been small fines only.
