. This is just a ploy so that announcers during OUR game have to talk about the Hoks during our broadcast. No ****ing thanks.

Also the endless need for validation so many hawk fans have from iowa state fans.

If i had $1 for every time i heard, condescendingly, "but why dont you cheer for the hawkeyyyyyes, i cheer for the cyclones when theyre not playing my hawkeyyyes", i could afford to bowl in the north endzone and have money to spare. This is nothing more than wanting ISU fans to embrace something of 'theirs'.

Its honestly stupid. Their tradition is a unique one, a great one even, given the hospital is right there. But because of their never-ending need for validation from ISU fans, apparently that is not good enough.

We could start our own "wave" tradition here at Jack Trice. Next time Iowa is in town, we wave to their fans as they leave at the conclusion of the third quarter after the Clones have kicked their team's *** up and down the field. Who's with me?

Dislike isn't a strong enough word. The page's "owner" steals all of his content from sources and plays it off as his own.

Someone described it as the "Wal-Mart of Hawkeye websites". Couldn't be more true.

Yeah that's what I thought, I know the media hates the guy

Would make more sense to have cut outs of hands on paper and have fans write positive messages to kids and send them to the hospital

We need to wave to the Northeast if anything. That would be in the direction of Mary Greeley Medical Center. It is a hospital.

The wave is a cool thing for Iowa when they play at home. I can't imagine it helps recruiting because the message associated with it is extremely sad. Most people don't like hanging around hospitals. In that respect it's a good and noble thing but ensures that every Iowa recruit will have a sad, sobering, memory when they visit. Taking a moment to honor and remember loved ones, especially Young ones is fine but it doesn't have to be accompanied with a wave to the east.

Nice enough idea on the surface but if it actually comes to fruition is will come off as forced and half ass at best. I feel awful for the kids and their families for what they're going through, but I don't see how a bunch of people waving at the horizon 120 miles away is going to give any of them a real warm feeling inside and this isn't even an ISU vs Iowa thing for me. Maybe I'm just a cynic.

I agree. The wave is great. It's theirs. Let's keep it that way. No need to cheapen it by foisting it on other fanbases.

If we bowl in the North End Zone, JTS would seat more than Kinnick. That would frost the Hok's cookies.

Of course, our hearts go out to the kids and their families in the hospitals . . . in Iowa City and Ames. How about waving to the kids and the families watching the game at Mary Greeley?

Or buy these shirts. All proceeds go to research on children's cancer.

I know there is precedent to do it at road games. They even did the wave at Blacksburg, VA during the College Gameday show. Nice, but I'm afraid they are going to wear it out.

The wave is an awesome thing. But it is their awesome thing.
