Way up there
Monte is so smooth he makes a lot of things look easy, I think that's a big reason he doesn't get the credit he deserves, when being compared to a flashy guy like JT. People forget the plays Tinsley forced, for every amazing play there was a smh moment. I agree JT is the better player to this point but to me its only about what he accomplished, not that he had more talent. IMO Morris will pass him up in the next couple years.

Who's the all time best point guard in ISU history? I take Tinsley

I'm not reading all 100 replies in this thread, but the correct Answer is Eric Heft.

Hefty > Jacy > Morris > Tinsley > Bayless > Blalock

If you consider Hornacek a PG, then he's in there obviously.

No doubt for me, Morris!
Tinsley had some on-court brain cramps, like the Hampton game where he pulls up for a jumper with 0:29 and a 1-pt lead, when all he had to do was dribble out the clock and/or wait to get fouled (see 2:30 mark in video).

Morris would't mess up like that and he he would't have smoked some brain-cramping substances to overwhelm his decision making skills.

Tinsley had his moments, for sure, but the great far out-weighed the bad.

I'm not sure what you had to enter to search for this horrible clip, but I hope it's the first thing that pulls up when you search for anything else over the next year. That should be your punishment.

I went years refusing to stay at a H****** Inn.

Tinsley was great for his teams, Morris is great for last year/this year's teams. We would not have been a 2 seed with Morris at PG instead of Tinsley.

I'll never have a good taste in my mouth with Tinsley based on his last two games. And there was a price to pay for his razzle dazzle. Turnovers.

How about instead of turning this into a ******* contest, ISU fans just be happy that we had a guy as good as Tinsley and be happy that we currently have Morris.

I don't see how you can say that this team (or any team) wouldn't be better with an All American and big12 POY as the PG. Mel Mel was one of the best college PG in the past 20 years, monte is great and im glad we have him but Tinsley is on another level.

I watch that Tinsley video from the Colorado game several times per year. Pure comedy and awesomeness. Can't believe he slid around on the floor like that in a real game not involving the Washington Generals.

Tinsley was Superman with the ball. He was a video game character with the cheat codes on. In terms of what he was capable of doing, he is far above Monte.

However, Morris might be more effective and successful before it's over.

I hope we are having the same arguments about whoever comes after Monte 3 years from now.
