It looked like they blew through the wall (Just like the breach made by the garbage truck) from the inside via a large vehicle, ran over the undead and left.
Since the walkers are all piled up right there, I'm guessing Eugene got the intercom going and they attracted the walkers to that spot, then smooshed them. That's all I got...

I will keep watching, but TWD just keeps jumping the shark.

After attacks on both Alexandria and the Kingdom, and a road ambush of the Hilltop fighters, let's see, Team Rick only lost one B cast member (and maybe some lookouts). Everyone is basically alive and escaped.

Including an improbable escape by Rick from Negan personally and the Alexandria complex.

OTOH, Team Negan lost the squad chasing the convoy, Michonne's kill, and Maggie's kill. Sounds about right.

At least Carl is hopefully not long for this world. I agree with others that he will go out big.

It seems like scarcity of ammo, human resources and a need for secure shelter are required by the other 3 communities but Negan has somehow grown stronger having all of his shelter and ammunition destroyed. It's like a WWE wrestler getting stronger from being hit 10 times in a row. They even addressed the fact that Eugene's genius plan (which I guess was to shoot all the walkers) would use all of their ammo.

Maybe Negan started with 100x the men and ammo. To me I thought it seemed like the numbers of the combined other communities weren't that different than the saviors.

I dont' know why you would want more to run over .... I think they just jail-breaked, and ran over who was there

It would be a decent strategy to flood them all into that huge assembly room (thanks Daryl) and shoot them from all that scaffolding above. It's not the "genius" they keep describing but it's not far fetched. They had been showing that scaffolding above the room for seasons so it's not too contrived that they could safely stand up there and fire away.

My problem with it is they discussed the shortage of ammo the plan would create and then they fired non stop automatic weapons last night assaulting 2 communities at once. If there's no ammo scarcity issue brought up in the next couple episodes that whole thing is pretty dumb imho.

I wasn't the biggest Carl fan, however what a stupid decision to exit him from the show. Rick's motivation for all of his acts is to protect Carl. Not to mention that the comic storylines are based on Carl going to take over from Rick. They just wrecked the story twice over.
Definitely not defending the show writing but there is Judith. Injecting some feminism:)

Forgot that part. Okay, so they piled most of their ammo at one point on the wall. Then they attracted the walkers with the newly repaired intercom. Then they made them go boomie and walked out over the newly de-animated corpses...

I assume they just went sniper for a few hours because of all the shots at the end of episode 7. Either way the ammo was supposedly depleted but they seemed to have tons of ammo in episode 8. If episode 9 or 10 show the saviors freaking out trying to find or make bullets I'll think it was a genius plot device, if they never address it I may need to be done with the show even though I'm still reading the new comics.

It's been all season long - literally every episode has non-stop automatic fire with the worst aim in human history. Except when Neagan is out there - then there is no shooting.

As I've said in this thread before - for a zombie apocalypse, the show felt "real". Now it feels contrived and forced with so many "WTF are they doing?" or "That makes no sense" moments, its maddening.

Does anyone actually think Negan could effectively fight anyone? I mean, look at him. He has chicken legs and basically zero body mass? It's just ridiculous. Kick him in the leg and it will snap. Then Rick starches him with whatever it was, has the bat and isn't able to kill him? Get it over with already.

There has been at least a dozen times where they could have shot Negan. Instead he intimidates them with a baseball bat. Ok...

At this point I feel like I'm still watching because I need closure or something.

Honestly, literally nothing of significance has happened this season. It's been a siege by the 3 groups on the saviors stretched out over 10 episodes. And where does it end up? With a standoff between Rick and negan, just the way it left off last season and probably the mid season break before that.

Carl's gonna die, great. Get on with it. Either kill negan or don't, I don't care. Just quit pussyfooting around and get somewhere in the storyline.

Last night was the third consecutive show I've missed. Two of those I just simply forgot to watch. In past seasons I would catch up on the AMC website. I haven't bothered to do that this season. stevefrench's post above sums up where I am with the show. I think I'm done, unless I take the time to catch up with a marathon showing.

I told someone yesterday that I am invested in the characters and feel obligated to know what happens. These last 8 episodes have just been treading water. The story has not advanced at all. Like many other shows, it has gone on too long. The problem with a show like this is there is no end. Only them finding a place to live in relative safety.

Show is terrible...I feel totally held hostage at this point. I'm so invested after 8 years that I can't watching although I get no joy from the show anymore. That all being said I really do think I'm done after this season.

I echo the previous posts. I'm just too far along to stop watching. I have, however, stopped watching live. I just can't do it. A few years ago I'd wait for the show with my laptop ready. I'd do the Story Sync (which was incredibly lame) in real-time. Now I DVR the show and skip the ads.

My biggest pet peeve with the show is how they expect us to remember the tiniest things from random episodes not even in the same season. How in holy hell am I supposed to retain info from a garbage episode two seasons ago when Tara was at Oceanside?!? The **** people.

Can we have more slow conversations between characters with soft music in the background?

Can we have more motivational speeches? I haven't seen one for three weeks, the good guys need some fire!

So pumped for the next gun fight. Let's spray some more bullets folks.

I'm ready for the start of the next half of the season. That's when we find out Judith bit Carl and he isn't really dying.

This is exactly how I feel about it.

However, wasn't there a flash-forward at the beginning of the season set several years in the future, where things were peaceful? And wasn't Carl in the flash-forward???? That's what makes me believe somehow that Carl may not actually die.
